EOJHL Regular Season Underway

With the recent signings of Scott Conroy & Drew Anderson to go along with picking up Ryan Eady in a trade last weekend, Renfrew has greatly improved their offence in the last week.

i agree, that instantly puts their offense to number 2 in the division i would expect

Metcalfe finally has their home opener and upset Clarence 4-2 to extend win streak to five

well it seems like arnprior just got alot better this week by picking up dekroon from westport he will help their backend and pp with his cannon and they also got the rights to brock burge who was a key player with winchester the last 2 years

dekroon is just average but he will help. I think burge is a bigger pickup

Arnprior

Two good additions for sure...seems a few scouts from the OHL are starting to take on interest in Jared Steege of the Packers....I heard there were a few in Shawville again last night

Renfrew

Tough game for Renfrew last night but a good one for Perth.....some good additions for Renfrew with Anderson and Conroy but struggled finishing around the net....Perth finished on their chances and that was the difference in the game...some very questionable offside and icing calls but they went both ways so it evened it....but wow, I don't think I had ever seen so many blown calls from the linesmen in one game....they were constantly out of position and their bad calls stop some very good rushes for both teams

Anyone at the Winchester game?

frustrated with the EOJHL website....30 mins past start and still no update.

He is probably the best young player in the league in a while. Wouldnt be surprised to see him make the jump

Ottawa West at Almonte, 20 October

Went out to Almonte to catch the Golden Knights at the Thunder last night. It was pretty clear who was the better team, Almonte struggled to get any offense going, and for stretches of the game were hemmed in their own end. Most of the Almonte shots were from distance and well seen by the OTW goalie.

Almonte managed to come within a goal, but extended PP time for OTW resulting in 2 goals pretty much ended that.

Dekroon is a good depth guy not sure he would be on the pp in Arnprior plays a physical game and will definitely help. I am suprised Westport would let go a local player since they are so rare there. Burge addition essentially gives Arnprior 2 top lines which will be hard to contend with.

Just to add to that, OTW only had 3 lines due to injury. Interesting to see what will happen today in Shawville. OTW seems to be a very disciplined team not taking bad penalties, and it shows scoring 4 PP goals in each of the last 3 games when teams decide to make it a gongshow.

I thought Parker played really well. Just she's too far in her net and looks small. #21 and #4 had really good games for Almonte. Phillips and Abbis-Mills weren't noticeable besides a couple hits.

Anrprior's D

Arnprior has a number of good young D and let a couple of good ones go in Lemoine and Burns...I am sure there are still more changes to come but that's the nature of Junior B hockey.

Why do coaches need to send out players to take out goalies? This happened yesterday and I just don't understand when it happens the coaches laugh and players bang the boards. This is the players first game this season and he gets 41 minutes in Penalites the worst part the goalie gets three games.

it was clear that the knights were the better team. it wasnt even close although the score said otherwise going into the third. they have a lot more depth. I would agree parker played alright although she had sometimes where she looked slow recovering, went down to early and doesnt challenge shooters. I am sure it is a big adjustment from girls hockey tho

From what i found, Brandon Belding started the season with Gatineau in the QMJHL where he played 8 games and was sent all the way down to Winchester where he got 41 pims and a match penalty in his first game.. he might still be upset hes now in jr.b and not the Q

I don't see a Lemoine trade on the website, where did he go ?

Not sure where he went, but I know he is no longer skating with the team.....could be that final details are not worked out yet for a trade....he has good size and is tough down low. I am sure Arnprior will get something for him.

You got that right. Not only is he as tough as nails, he's a great kid. Not sure why he's getting bounced around, I would take him on my team in a heart beat !

He was part of a deal but would not report due to travel concerns. If he is no longer going to play in Arnprior, he is probably just waiting on a deal to somewhere that he approves.

I see where Matt Couvrette has been signed by Ottawa South Canadians. The goaltending there was shaky at best and his signing will certainly help them. Ottawa West plays at South tonight, should be a good game. Couvrette was 4-1 with Carleton Place this year and apparently came back to South via a trade from Metcalfe.

I don't blame the player I blame the coach.

Thats tough to take, going from the Q to the Jungle....heard that Gatineau wanted him to be a fighter but I don't think thats his style. Saw him play last year and did not see any of that in him. Too bad, but he's still young and can make his way back up the ladder.

go to this youtube video that winchester posted and check out the second fight and tell me what you think. Why did the goalie get three games and the player that crosscheck the goalie it the neck only get three games?

I believe that a goalie cannot fight or attempt to fight a player, otherwise he's given three games. And, I hate to say it but that goalie didnt look like much of a fighter.....just sayn.....
