I would say that they 100% have a contingency plan.
You would have to think that if Dubas declined the offer, Pridham is up. Just speculation of course, I would like them to conduct interviews outside the organization, but in the event of time constraints, nobody knows what has gone on behind closed doors better than Pridham right now.

Yeah I would think Shanahan and Pridham would take over in the interim and then interviews for a permanent replacement would begin.

Yeah not too worried about the vacuum. Both of those (as well as Spezza) will have been voices in the room up until this point, and will have a solid understanding of where things stand.

I think Mrs. Dubas was holding it down all season. Anyone with 2 young kids knows how crazy that gets. So when the season was over Kyle goes home and shit got real.

We all know how Kyle wants to take care of others, so it may have been a bad day or a bad fight with the Mrs. and it all spilled over into the PC.

Could be nothing, could be something...who knows.

I wouldn’t be so concerned with the draft the scouting department can handle that, but with the impeding actuation of NMC’s on a couple of key assets I’d hope dealing with these is the priority, my trust level isn’t high, at least not since the Bill Watters fax machine snafu………

Sounds like Dubas's family had a tough year which says to me that dumb leaf fans harassed them. If that's the case. Burn the org to the ground, we don't deserve anything.

It scares me that there appears to be no contingency plan. If Dubas does take the year off, who comes into run this team during on of the most important periods in it's history?

The next 5-8 weeks are massive!

Difficult to say if there's "no contingency plan" versus "we aren't aware of what plan B" is.

It could simply be just sliding Pridham into the vacancy - continuity of management, someone familiar with the operation, and someone the board knows well.

If I find out that She or her family were harassed on social media or the like by fanatic Leaf fans, I'm dropping this team. There is no chance with that kind of toxicity that you are going to retain or attract top tier talent.

You don't even need confirmation to know that happens. People are vicious assholes and family members of sports executives/players are targets on social media for every fanbase of every sport.

Not every fanbase. Which is why players flock to places like Florida or the like where they can walk freely to the store and hockey is on the back burner.

That's fair, Pridham may very well be the answer.

Still hoping to see Dubas back if he is up for it.

There are shitty people everywhere, it's not exclusive to the Leafs fanbase, it's a societal thing. I don't think it is logical to drop a team you have supported for years to decades because a very, very small minority of the overall fanbase may have behaved poorly.

Again, not every fan base has them. And since we are the meca and most fanatic, it stands to reason we also have the most toxic environment for player and management's family and friends to simply try and live their lives without f***ing death threats or the like because someone like Dubas didn't trade Holl.

I'd rather not support or be part of that fan base.

I'm ambivalent to that. He bet on the group and lost, and I question whether he's too emotionally invested to moved forward from that.

That being said, I hope who ever is brought in builds on or atleast maintains the back office/ overall organizational strength that he's built

I'm not disagreeing with you that it's scum behaviour, but there are shitty people everywhere in society. There are 100% shitty people in every fanbase in every sport. How many time do you see videos of people in the US fighting with eachother in the stands? Pouring beer on other people? Plenty of current and former players have shared screenshots of f***ed up messages they get on social media. There are scumbags everywhere. You also don't know definitively that that is what Dubas was referring to.

Anyways, if you don't want to support the team any longer, then that's your choice of course, but IMO just rip the bandaid off instead of posting on HFBoards in the offseason. Just my opinion.
