Some positive memories that stick out for me (in chronological order):

-Gaborik's hat-trick against the Bruins
-JT Miller's two goal game against the Islanders
-Beating the Sabres after Kaleta boarded Richards
-Gaborik's OT Winner against the Islanders after Nash tied it up late in the 3rd
-Stepan's 4 point night against the Flyers
-Clowe, Brassard, and Moore all scoring the night after being acquired against the Penguins
-Henrik's first SO and Girardi's OT Winner against the Islanders
-5 goals in however quickly that was against the Sabres/Richards first career hat-trick
-Callahan's OT Winner against the Hurricanes to secure a playoff berth
-Lundqvist back-to-back shutouts in Game 6 & 7 against the Capitals
-Kreider's OT Winner against the Bruins

Rick Nash pulled a great disappearing act. Will get a pass because he's not a soft European.

Not sure if there is another thread on this, if so it can be closed or merged.

Well it ended with a whimper, but lets not forget this was a team that was out of a playoff spot towards the later stages of the season. We had a top defenceman down for half the season and all but one playoff game. Our top two paid forwards combined for 2 goals in the playoffs, we had a stone age, inept coaching staff and we still made it to the second round on the back of our true leader Henrik Lundqvist.

I hate to say this, but I'm not even that upset right now. Obviously there was lots of pre season talk of how good this team could be with Nash Gaborik and Richards, but the way we played in this shortened season led many to believe there was still a way to go before we can give Lundqvist his cup.

Lets see what happens in the post season. Richards buy-out? Torts fired? Depth signings? Who knows, but this is a team that has won 3 playoff rounds (albeit all in 7 games) over the past two seasons, maybe this team is on to something

The team that went to the ECF is vastly different than this years team, and this years team narrowly avoided a sweep in the second round. Good on them for beating the Caps but that's not what a cup contender does.

I really dislike being the debbie downer, especially considering some of the cheery denizens of HF, but I don't think we're onto much besides some vastly talented individuals- the team itself is not contending for a cup, though.

I hurt.

Good season. Good guys. Everything's good.

Let's see what we do in the off season and let's start over next year. We'll be a better team.

I'm done with that kind of thinking. I don't even care if we amass a record of 80-0-2 in the regular season. I want a Cup. 20 years since the last one isn't too much to ask for.

I thought he was fine. He had a very good season. Happy that he is a Ranger.

He had a good regular season, yes. But he was disappointing in the playoffs. Yeah he made some good plays and had a great assist here and there. But in the end, he is our star on offense, we traded valueable pieces for him and he scored one goal. That simply isn't enough. He needs to be much better.

He had better teams in Buffalo and didn't accomplish anything.

And what has Tortorella done lately? Or the other coaching candidates available out there? The Sabres were an offensive powerhouse right after the lockout with pieces similar to what we have now. Actually, I'd say we have a better team now than the 05-06/06-07 Sabres.

How many jaw dropping saves did Hank make to keep them in the game?
How many tough shots did Rask face?
And from last post season to this one, what has really changed? goal scoring was the issue, remains the issue.
Offense needs to be seriously addressed this offseason, either the system or the players.

this summarizes everything this year quite nicely

Keep Torts.

Ship off all vets.

5 yr Rebuild plan.

Cup finals after year 8 when Hank is almost 40? Awesome plan.

Pretty sure I wasn't defending Torts so chill, what has Ruff done lately besides getting canned? Need a fresh mind IMO, something this organization doesn't typically do so your wish is probably more likely.

Unfortunately, Tortorella probably isn't going anywhere because of the last two seasons' results. Problem is, this team has been hindered by the "system" in the playoffs.

Richards has to be bought out.

As nuts as it sounds, I might make the deal Hurricanes fans want - M. Staal for Skinner.

I think that things are really looking up for NYR.
There are some very interesting prospects that will be making an appearance.

I want to see a faster team. It will come. These transition seasons are a bit tough, but come on, the head brass cannot let this go on too long. They have to get going on no longer priding themselves on blocking shots and collapsing down low. Renney called it '5 In The Picture', and that was the pride. I don't want that any more, it is boring. I want to see players pressuring the opposition and creating 2 on 1 oppportunities.
I want to see the Rangers return to being a team that threatens with speed and attacks at all times.

Richards needs to go. I would like to see them re-sign Clowe for a reasonable price (if not, he can go). Trade one of Girardi or MDZ (preferably Girardi since he's a UFA after next year). Re-tool the 4th line.

As much as I like disagreeing with you, I have to agree with your posts in the GDT that Hank is not the same Hank from last year. People are really emoing out with what you are saying. He is still great, but not exactly what he was last year. I feel like he definitely isn't getting as much help this year as he was last, which might be the main factor.

Idk what it is. Is it Torts system that took so much life out of these players? Or is it them having kids? Cally, Girardi, and Hank all recently had kids and all of them are different than they were last year.

Oh well fire Torts and try again. That will be the only way I can forgive these trespasses against me. :D

Just didn't belong in this series and the Bruins let them know that. Didnt tgink theyd even make it this far so im happy with that. Hopefully some good comes out of this and Torts gets fired. I'm excited for the offseason and love the new additions.

Lundqvist with that 93,4% playoff SV...once again he showed up but his team did not.
