I'd settle for his regular seasons and playoff performances on a consistent basis.

Well if you mean you can live with his regular season performance only bc he makes up for it come playoff time, I can live with that as well, as long as hes on the 4th line though for 82 games. one of our 2 or 3 best pkers, best center for us on the pk in the defensive zone too. He will prob rebound though, no camp def hurt him.

Keep Torts? Seriously?

Listen, I defended him for a looooong time. I thought he was good for the club.

I take that all back.

He plays antiquated hockey. It's time for a change. Get Ulf Samuelson over here! I liked what Daneyko had to say in the post game. Hire someone a-la Brian Leetch who was a PP specialist on as an assistant.

Regardless, things need to change.

I do not see how trading Boyle puts the team ahead.
Is Dorsett taking his place (snicker snicker guffaw).

You guys are crazy.

I saw Leetch's entire career and if your contention is that Leetch had some bad games, he did. If you think Leetch at that point in his career was worse than Del Zotto at this point in his career, I could not disagree more.

Leetch was terrible at coverage in front of the net. His 90 season and 91 and 92 postseasons would have this board demanding his head on a plate.

MDZ is not a defensive liability contrary what the professors on this board say in their trade proposals. Leetch most certainly was until Keenan made him commit to coverage. That's why his point totals dropped after 92.

Hey all I said is if we can get another center in a trade for him I would think about it. Just during the regular season Boyle needs to be on the 4th line IMO. Same for Dorsett.

Then go get a mean nasty big punishing stay at home defenseman so he play an offensive game, or maybe turn him into a forward

The Rangers were abnormally bad at holding the lead in the Boston series. For most of the season I felt confident when the Rangers would get a lead but in this series you just had the feeling they would blow the leads.

Weren't good in that regard against the Caps either. Only games we didn't blow leads in that series were the games where Lundqvist just went completely ape ****.

Got no problem with him on the PP in front of the net. That's where he's successful. He's a player I want matched up against the opposing team's top line as a shut down forward. I think Callahan on a line with Hagelin and Boyle is a superb 3rd line, and makes this team deeper.

And you turn a guy who scored 29 goals in 2011-12 into a 15 goal scorer. Goal scorers are too valuable. If you bring in another guy who can score 30, then maybe you move Cally down.

Dorsett is not the player that Boyle is. Although both are bottom 6 players, I don't see the track record from Dorsett with NYR, and most definitely not with Columbus.

All I see is some crazy idea of yanking out a really good player and ending up with some guy similar to maybe Dorsett.

Callahan gets alot of his goals on the PP. Which he would still play on.

He's never been a huge even-strength producer. If anything, the sheltered minutes could help his numbers and keep him a little fresher for the playoffs.

I honestly don't ever remember being more at ease with a season ending. Team was abysmal to watch for 90% of the year and quite honestly a majority of personnel on this team just flat out sucks. All you have to do is watch other teams for 5 minutes and see how nice they pass the pucks and how many chances they create then go back and watch the rangers and see how pathetic their offense looks. I said it even as the rangers were coming back against Washington...I grew a hatred for a bunch of players on this team. Hopefully changes are made because if I have to come back in October with basically the same roster I don't know if I can do it.

Agreed.

Literally everything here would be counterproductive.

Good job.

I would agree, but I think this team has too many holes to fill to be a contending cup caliber team, they were playing abysmal for most of the year. I would rather see the Rangers lose and draft high end talent for a few years rather than see constant mediocre hockey leading to average prospects like Miller and Kreider instead of high end ones like RNH and Duchene.

Some early thoughts.

I'm not ready to give up on DelZotto yet.

If the Rangers buy out Richards we still DZ, Bassard. I doubt they trade Boyle. More likely they sign a guy like Dom Moore.

We gotta get a read on what's going to happen with Staal & Sauer. We can't go in to next seasons training camp with a wait & see what happens.

Clowe want's a 5 year 20 million dollar contract. Thanks, but no thanks.

Lundquist only has a year left on his current deal. Although most likley he will stay,we should start looking for his replacement & that will mean drafting a goalie or 2 this year.

Not sure If I want Torts or Sather running the show anymore. Most likely they both come back. But if next season is a disaster or even f this team is struggling to be a 500 team by Thanksgiving Sather will need to save his own ass & fire Torts.

Top 4 and top 8 in the last two seasons. Not cup final, but at least they were competitive. Kershaw, feel free to become a fan of a tanking team (hint: it only works if you get a Crosby on your team)

I think it's very premature to right off the Oilers or Islanders or the Avalanche. Failing tanking team is probably Atlanta and the Islanders. A lot of that falls on incompetent management.

I'm take it or leave it at this point. Either way I am fine if he stays or goes. I do think the Rangers need a PP triggerman. If they can get one while Del Z is here, I think Del Z's play will improve dramatically on the PP.

However, if moving Del Z will allow us to get a PP triggerman, I am completely fine with Moore taking his role.

Personally, I think Del Z is a victim of Torts player mismanagement on the PP. We never got a real good look at Del Z/Moore on the PP together.

This season was just a bump in the road, IMO. Should be better next year with a full training camp with the new guys. I also LOVE that we pretty much have a set top six in Kreider/Zucc - Brass - Nash and Hagelin - Stepan - Callahan. Very solid on paper. Looking forward to next year! :yo:
