I honestly think Dubas is a good person, and tht he’s being true to himself and making what he feels are the best decisions for the team. And that scares me.

After the collapse last year, I haven't even been able to bring myself to watch a game. They certainly haven't done anything to change my attitude

I agree the Tavares contract is a big detriment to us right now. He is not an 11 million dollar player. However while patting yourself on the back remember this whole pandemic thing that's happened has caused a flat cap the last two years and likely minimal increase for at least the next two-three years? In a normal world like we all would have predicted the moment those contracts were signed we're likely looking at a cap that is closer to 90 million right now and increasing steadily making Tavares and our other big contracts much less of an issue.

While I agree and we’d be in a better position. A 90 cap right now would mean we can bring back the a similar team next year (IE Reilly). Since it’s a flat cap we’ll likely just be losing him. So I don’t think that would have changed much, we’d just continue rolling with what we have. Instead we’ll get worse. Also remember cause of the pandemic many players were forced to take discount. Bogo at 1 mill, Simmonds, even Kase and Ritchie not getting QO worked to the leafs advantage cause of other teams cap issues. So overall I still think these contracts are way out of whack and it all started with Tavares

Some of you guys are EXACTLY where I was with the Caps right after the season ended before they won the Cup the following season.

You become emotionally detached in a way. You still care and follow the team but you don’t invest in a way where you will ever be scarred emotionally again.

Father was beside himself last night. It was the worst I have ever seen him. I tried to talk to him but his face was red and he just walked outside and circled the neighborhood with our dog Wendel for hours. Later on he calmed down and told me everything would be ok
:handclap:
