Not moving his feet.
Gripping his stick.
Not seeing the ice.
All the same thing.
I'm not sure what your point is. I posted ten quotes of different posters who all thought, generally, that Pettersson wasn't skating well in his slump. Again, all I did was scan one thread and found these easily. There are, no doubt, countless other similar observations in the various GTDs of the games he played during this slump.
The idea that anyone is "fabricating" that Pettersson skated poorly in his last slump is totally ridiculous and contracted by the very easily available evidence some of which I have already provided you.
And this is an important point, because if Pettersson skated poorly during his last big slump (which there are dozens of contemporaneous eye witness accounts to that effect) and he had no obvious injury causing that poor skating, then its a dubious argument that because he's skating poorly in this slump he must or is likely to have an injury that's causing his poor skating.
He was about a point per game player back then, so it's not as much of a departure. Up until last year he was a top 25 forward in this league in points / game, so despite his slump he was still a top player (which is why he got the contract he has).
Yes, you are correct. My bad, I thought he had a 90 point season before his first big slump. But the point still stands that he had a massive decline in production over almost a half season.
You seem to think this type of massive decline, that's happened twice in his career, is "normal", but, as far as I can tell, you haven't provide any evidence to support this assertion.
I don't like where Pettersson's game is at either, but I remind you: When I made the comment that it would be an unlikely bet to see Pettersson reach 100+ points at the end of 2021, you scoffed at this saying the data was there to support such a notion. There's a stronger case now as it would be a return to form, rather than something he's never achieved. Tread lightly...
I don't know if you are confusing
@MS with me, but if you are thinking me, then you recollection of the facts is incorrect.
You stated that it would be an "amazing" projection for someone to think that Petey would score 100 points in this league during his struggles at 23. In reality, Petey had scored 153 points over his first 165 games in the NHL over his 20-22 year seasons (including his 21 year old season where he essentially scored at a point per game).
So ya, even though he struggled pretty badly for the first half or so of his 23 year old season, it wouldn't be an "amazing" projection to project that he may become a 100 point player in his prime.
Even when he's clearly working hard and having a decent game, he doesn't have his top end speed and he doesn't have his shot, and anyone who can't see it at this point is deliberately, wilfully, and in bad faith blind.
We all know he's not skating well. But the question is why. And again, I don't know how people like you can be so sure he's skated poorly due to injury when he skated poorly during his last slump without any obvious injury to explain it.
I think his shooting is more a result of him not getting as many chances, and his confidence. He had an absolute laser one time shot on the powerplay a few games ago that hit the post. His shot looked fine then.
