Went back and look at the winning goal shift

I’m still convinced that he has the best vision and hockey IQ on the team.

What he lacks when compare to JT and Quinn is his lower body strength and skating explosiveness
Yeah but he didnt throw a big hit and call JT a baby during practise so he doesnt wanna be here and is clearly in depression.

This can't be a serious comment.

"Just because you don't think leeching is a beneficial medical practice doesn't mean you should disregard trepanation out of hand."

The overt willingness to disregard medical science should absolutely be raising ginormous red flags if you think that the health of Canucks' players matters to team success.

I can't believe this is a conversation that is happening.
I mean, the idea that chiropractic as a practice is somehow not legit because the medical establishment said so (lol) is equally ridiculous. So many people benefit from it.

Anyway, let's steer away from this.

So, uh, what research have you done that would unseat the general consensus of medical professionals? What are your credentials that would cause other medical professionals to give serious regard to the results of your research?

I mean, going with "I did my own research" is not exactly a compelling argument, if I'm being honest.

Sidenote: proper punctuation is a good thing if you are trying to convince people to take your points seriously.

There's a chiropractor working for every single organization across the MLB, NBA, NHL and NFL.

There are aspects of chiropractic care that show no benefit to the long-term health of your spine. I get that. People take that information and conflate it to 'it doesn't work!'. But we are talking about chiropractors being used to alleviate inflammation, make small adjustments, etc to professional athletes.

Also, chiropractics a pseudo-science? You are lost.

7 goals in his last 40 games. 8 in 53 if you count playoffs

Beating a dead horse I know but this is fascinatingly depressing

Wait, why isn't his agent bringing up the fact that Pettersson is injured?

He's willingly letting his biggest client get crucified by the fans and media, despite knowing that it's not Pettersson's fault???

That now makes Pettersson's agent, Rick Tocchet, Sergei Gonchar, Adam Foote, Jim Rutherford, Patrick Allvin, JT Miller and Quinn Hughes who are all very aware of the fact that Pettersson has been playing injured for 9 months and have not once stepped up to defend him or correct the record.

I can't believe everyone is against Pettersson! I almost don't want to believe it...

But the only other alternative might be... he's not injured!? And he's just playing poorly?

No way. I refuse to believe that. It makes way more sense that everyone around him hates him and are willingly letting him get thrown under the bus.

Because those fans are all meatheads. Let them sweat it out for being the fools they are.

Slightly off topic here.

My spine is literally slightly crooked in a "S curve" (i honestly dont know how to describe it in english, sorry. I think it's scoliosis)
having seen a chiropractor a couple of years ago, it worked wonders for the likes of me.
Albeit a temporary fix, the relief I got was amazing and the face I made was making my wife jealous. I could breathe, walk and workout better instantly.

So longstory short,
it absolutely works.

It works very temporarily (about 2-3 hours in my experience for my re-occurring separated shoulder) but you would have to be richer than sin in order to make it worthwhile. At $90 a pop that's about $3500 a year for 3 - 4 appointments per week.

It’s way too expensive for sure, I tried it a couple of times and that was it.

This wins.

Should be stapled to the thread to read before commenting.

To break that down a bit more (only regular season to avoid calculations):

Over that span he’s averaged 6.45 shots per 60. Outside 22/23 he’s been closer to 7.75. That’s about a 17% drop.

Over that span, he’s shot 8.33%, relative to a career norm of 15ish percent. He’d have 13 (26 goal full season rate) if closer to career norms on SH%, even with his reduced rate of generating shots.

Over that span, he has 11.5 individual expected goals. Pettersson’s career has two discrete chunks. Prior to 22/23 he’s in the low 20s/82 games for ixG, basically right in line with what he’s done over the last 40. In 22/23 and the first half of 23/24, he’s over 30/82, so it’s a fall of compared to recent play. Also coincides with Kuzemenko’s arrival/departure.

The difference from pre-22/23 to today is that he used to regularly beat his ixG by 40-50% while now he’s lagging it. Some of that is probably bad luck but he’s also clearly not shooting the puck well, so some of it is probably skill related. How much is luck vs talent at this point, who knows.

So there’s not one or two smoking guns - basically everything has gone downhill, probably including his luck.

So to get this thread back on track, what are everyone's thoughts on public transportation?
If you're going to use it to access White Spot's Salmon Burger, you're better off going to an actual White Spot rather than a ferry terminal as both major terminals on the Lower Mainland have fairly poor transit service, Tsawassen especially. Plus you'd actually have to get on a ferry.

His shooting percentage going down also just makes sense in the context that, at least to my eye, he is getting far fewer quality scoring changes. So, given him also just not shoot very well as you noted, it isn't surprising that we'd see some drop in shooting percentage.

ixG should be a (rough) measure of shot quality though. Relative to pre-2022/23, his average shot quality over the last 40 games is higher than it was historically because he’s taking fewer shots to generate a similar number of ixG. He’s down a bit in shot quality relative to the Kuzmenko-era, but that’s already reflected in the drop ixG.

If you look at just high danger chances, the same is the case - Pettersson generated about 1 per game pre 22/23 but has been at 1.15 per game the last 40 games, so that doesn’t explain it either.
