I am talking about teams like Dundee

Their line of Wirll, Bagron and Rhyanen was a first line to rival every team in the league, their 2nd line of imports was ok, then who do they have on the 3rd line? Harper, Watkins and Connon who would barely be 2nd liners in the EPL.

They also only had 4 decent Dmen with McCluskey and Forsyth riding the pine every game.

All the EIHL fans cry that more imports means the smaller teams can compete but this is evidence that it really doesn't. Dundee played 2 line hockey and exhausted their good players and the results showed.

Me thinks Tony Hand and his preference for two line hockey.

I don't buy that either. I saw Manchester a few times this season and they played 3 lines. At the start of the season I would be inclined to agree but Chong was injured and they basically played 2 lines + Ciaran Long and Campbell the short time he was there, you can easily roll 2 C's with 3 lines of wingers. But for the 2nd half of the season they had the McKenzie's and certainly did play all 3 lines of forwards. As for the D the numbers speak for themselves, they had 6 Dmen with the lowest scoring one getting 10 points.

Manchester also did not keep kids on the bench for the whole season, they dressed some of the Trafford guys a couple of times but that was it.

Backup EIHL tendy's dropping to NIHL...

^One of many reasons I don't understand EIHL/EPL/NIHL

It's not difficult to understand really, because they have to spend so much on imports the smaller teams can't afford a decent backup so they just stick a local kid on the bench who isn't even good enough for EPL.

If you didn't notice, the Stars already replaced McGill with a different younger local kid, Chalmers

Too early to say with very little of Dundee, Edinburgh or Fife's rosters known.

Interesting that you listed 3 of the 4 Scottish teams. Do they typically have more trouble attracting imports or even top Brits?

I'll be paying attention to Hull because of Bowns and Chamberlain but I rarely pay any attention to EIHL at all

Dundee look like they've improved their Brit contingent from last year, but I think their success will depend on who they have in net as Riopel was the backbone of their team last year, they've kept Wirll but I remember hearing Rhyanen would not be back. Edinburgh have barely signed anyone an the guys they have signed don't look very impressive except for Leinweber, and Fife only have their player-coach signed.

Hull have managed to keep Matty Davies their top Brit as well as Squires who could have a good year, and they've kept their top two imports from last year Tendler and Silverthorn. I can't see them finishing bottom again this year, they should be better than Edinburgh and Fife, but we won't know until they've signed more players

looks like from the 2015/16 season the Wembley Lions will be back.

Neil Black is involved with a bunch of others and they have been granted a London franchise.

Hopefully after London we get a team back in Manchester.

Just read the report on BIH and the journo seems a bit confused on a couple of things. The document he links to is from the Competition Commission, which is looking into the AEG contract to run Wembley Arena. This is because they already own the O2 and this new deal would see them control the only two remaining arenas in London.

Neil Black seems to be giving evidence against AEG running Wembley, as it would give them a monopoly. As part of that evidence he has had to state what his interest in the deal is, and that is where he states he's been looking to have a team play at Wembley, starting in 2015.

So it seems he is interested in London, but not that he's looking to do it in conjunction with AEG.

Someone needs to give Ben Bowns a hug...

He's facing 40 shots per game and actually maintaining a solid Save%

So what's the deal with this Conboy fella? Someone was telling me about him and his antics today and then lo and behold I log into THF and see that tonight he was ejected for physical abuse of an official  I read he's played 8 games and was ejected from 4 of them!

On a positive note I remember saying that Dundee looked much better on paper this season and so far they've managed to get the results!
