The thing I love about Ehlers is he makes shit happen and when he does make a mistake he busts his ass to make up for it.

I don't necessarily think he needs more ice time, outside of being on pp1. I think other players need less.

I agree get him on PP #1 and Nik will take care of the rest at evens as long as he’s in the top 6.

Ehlers showed more leadership and accountability than any of our leaders did, atleast publicly, this season imo

Not that I'm suggesting him wear a letter over the other 3, but it's refreshing to hear him comment on his or the team's games compared to some others.

And by some people they mean the entire coaching staff since he was drafted.

i mean the mods and posters who get butt-hurt when you say ehlers is a great player, or better than wheeler/should be on pp1, and go on a power-trip and delete your posts and ban you.

for that follow GAR... for forwards - Ehlers ranks 1st on the Jets despite being 8th in total TOI. for comparison sake, Wheeler has 150 more mins at all strenghts, while having higher ATOI per gp (wheeler has 3 more gp than ehlers)

Love this kid on our team. One of the most dynamic players I have cheered for on a team. He was a hell of a draft pick and I was there live to watch my one and only NHL draft in Philly.

My favourite Jet-to-be as I cheered for the Mooseheads, and since then my favourite Jet. Doesn't hurt that he's a genuinely good dude who does a ton in the community.

We're lucky to still have a guy who is as electric and efficient as Nik. It's a rare combo.

Get Chevy on the phone to trade for Blichfeld!

Let's not get carried away. Blichfeld had three goals in a 9-1 victory and one goal in a 1-6 defeat. All four goals were scored when the games had been decided for a while. The rest of the tournament he was no where to be seen in any zone. He was even benched in the deciding games. Not exactly a value player.

But that just means we could get a good deal on him.
:sarcasm:

Ehlers' passes were so good, the scorers basically are just gently redirecting the pucks on wide open net. We really just need to play him more, he makes things happen. And this was pond hockey for him.

I know the team is in flu-x at the moment, but watching The Electric Ehls return from a season-long layoff, manage a game where he's a bit off but still good and takes the chance in his first interview since back to characteristically look hard at his own performance and where improvements might lie, then come out and make goals out of nothing for game after game since, rust aside, while reminding us that it is in fact possible for a Jets player not called Norissey to carry the puck reliably 8/10 across zones without a) going for the simple chip/ dump or b) instantly ceding possession by firing into the goalie's chest...

I know it hasn't all been roses, but what a relief to have a recognizable Ehlers back in the lineup doing Ehlers things. Such a unique and entertaining player.

To me probably Maurice's biggest mistake was not playing Ehlers enough and never on PP1 . Well now with Bowness Ehlers has that monkey off his back. :naughty:

ehlers is probably my favorite current Jets and i believe one of the most impactful given the ice-time he gets. however, given the guy's inconsistency with health, maybe the 5v5 mins should be kept around where they've been. less chance of injuries. i do agree on PP1 TOI though, that alone would've been what 2-3 mins-ish extra a night? and id say less chance of injury on the PP rather than PK or 5v5 play.
