Soft is kind
I'd honestly move Rielly off the PP and keep the big 4 on the ice together for at least 90 seconds of the PP. I understand the want for involving Simmonds and Thornton but I feel like our PP from a year ago with a genuine point shot from Lehtonen would do wonder for Tavares in the slot.

Whenever we play good defensively, we also forget how to score.

Whenever we suck ass defensively, we also score a boatload of goals.

these are the times when it looks like you just cant by one, and you want to load up a healthy robertson on the top line and hyman on 2nd to really spark that offense.....kerfoot, thornton, mikheyev, vesey, simmonds, and spezza are then more then capable bottom 6 forwards

I know Auston Matthews will get going eventually, so there's no reason to panic, but that dude has had wayyyyyy to many high danger opportunities this year to have 1 goal, given his skill level... It goes without saying but we need him producing.

Agreed. But Keefe is also killing the first line with Joe being up there. No disrespect to Thornton, i was excited when we signed him, but I didn't think he was gonna be playing up on our 1st line when it happened.

With Joe at least he goes to the boards and makes plays

Vesey is doing absolutely nothing on that line. He doesn't make plays, doesn't dig the puck out; doesn't shoot.... heck he deosn't even backcheck as hard like wtf is he doing in the top 6?

JT has to go dig the puck so he is getting frustrated and trying to do all on his own giving away pucks.

meanwhile Hyman is getting wasted on the 3rd line; even if that line gets the puck there is noone that will score

dont give a shit about advance stats bud

The statistics align with what I'm seeing, nothing is aligning with what you're preaching.

"I don't care about statistics" The good news is stats, unlike your dreadful take, aren't biased. Take off your homer goggles and get over the fact that the Leafs haven't produced many quality scoring chances tonight and have played a relatively poor game.

If he didn't get chances I would worry. He's hitting this year which I am impressed with

I am more concerned with our lack of speed and some feistiness. I really hope to see Anderson and Boyd. They bring some greasiness who can skate
