Yep. Delusional. Whatever helps ya feel smart. "Skinner is so bad . Pickard is better . Next sentence . Skinner has gotten us to the finals. He is better than Demko." Which one is it.

If you cant comprehend that the 3-5 best goalie in the league isn't better than a rookie Silovs then you are hopeless.
If you can't comprehend that demko is a bandaid and wasn't guaranteed to make those Hasek like saves like silovs, eh it's your dream.

The dude got injured just crunching down lol

It's a nice story to tell people. Only if... Ya Skinner pulled his jockstrap up and got back on the saddle. After being pulled and embarrassed for 2 games. He could have turtled

Unlike the Canucks. Shit the bed game 6. The great Boeser has 1 assist his last three games. The entire team just double shits the bed again the next game

If I learned anything that series, Edmonton has 1000x the mental fortitude as Vancouver does

Thats why the regular season means dik all

The big boys show up when it counts. They don't turtle and go soft like Hughes, Petey, mikeyev, Miller last two games

When garland is your best player for multiple games..... Forget about it

Thank your lucky stars that silovs gave you more enjoyment than a 4 game sweep. Memories

I'm not here beating the drum that if we had Demko we would have won like you guys who say you would have won in 4-5 with Pickard. I'm just calling out the stupidity that Demko would have been no better the Silovs.
There’s no garantee Demko does any better than Silovs who stood on his head. You can hypothesize and estimate all you want, but no one will ever know.

He most def would have. Demko is a beast. Silov was good. But he did let in some softies along the way.

Demko was 3rd best on our team. prob the 3rd or 2nd best goalie this year. He almost single handedly stole a series off Vegas.

Nope you don’t know that. Maybe he lets one less softie than Silovs, but maybe he makes one less 10-bell cross crease robbery save. Or maybe Demko reinjures himself trying to make that 10-bell save which would be in line with his history. The TRUTH is, you don’t know, no one does. But if you need the Demko theory as a cope and excuse, go ahead I guess.

You keep saying this but this hypothetical scenario of having Demko would imply he doesn't get injured. Don't think that takes 150IQ to understand.

I'm also not coping because I've never brought up the fact that Demko would have won the series for us. Not once.

I'm simply replying to the Oiler fan base that disrespects Demko by implying he would have not been better than a rookie AHL goalie that did good but not great. Demko is great. Canucks had to play a defensive game since game 2 vs Nashville. It was never our identity during the regular season it was something we had to adapt to after Demko got hurt.

I don't do what If's. I never made excuses . I'm proud our that we team the Oilers to game 7 with all those 1 goal games. We did it without our Allstar goalie Demko and it was fun. Silovs made a great feel good narrative. I was nervous as f*** when he was starting his 1st game vs Nashville. I thought we were toast. I'm simply responding in defense of people acting like Demko isn't a factor. He was the 2nd best goalie imo this season because he is that good.

Well I said reinjure. Cause it remains a possibility if he was able to suit up this series. Regardless, ignoring that aspect of this completely hypothetical situation. My soft goal vs. 10-bell save argument still stands. I think oilers fans are just pushing back on the notion that this series ends any different with Demko in. There’s no garantee.

That’s not to say Demko isn’t a great goalie. He is. But Silovs while not having a reputation as a great goalie, played like one anyways when called upon. Either way, I think we can both agree, no one knows either way what would have happened.
