Dylan Gunther had 2 goals and 2 assists and was named first star, as the OKS (1-0) blew away the Hurricanes 7-1 (0-1). Jake Neighbors (named second star) and Kaid Oliver (named third star) each had a goal and 2 assists). Josh Williams had a goal and an assist, with Carson Latimer and Tyler Horstman getting a goal each. Matthew Robertson and Logan Dowhaniuk had 2 assists each. Liam Keeler and Jalen Luypers had a helper each. Sebastian Cossa (1-0) made 26 saves in the win.

Shots on goal were 47-27 Edmonton. PP was 2/5, PK 7/8)

The Oil Kings (2-0) put up another touchdown 7-2 over the Hurricanes. Dylan Guenther had 2 goals, 1 assist and was named first star. Kaid Oliver had 2 Oliver had 2 goals and 2 assists was named 2nd star. Scott Atkinson had a goal and an assist. Liam Heeker also had a goal and Jadun Luypen also had goals. Jake Neighbors and Carter Souch had 2 assists. Ethan Peters, Josh Williams, Logan Dowhaniuk and Keegan Slaney each had an assist. Sebation Cossa (2-0) made 17 saves. Shots were 28-25 Lethbridge. PP was 2/4. PK 4/4. Faceoffs were 28/53 Lethbridge.

If the Oil Kings are only playing 24 games, how many games are teams in those other divisions playing, based on their late starts?

The Oil Kings match up with the Medicine Hat Tigers in an early battle for first place in the Central tonight at the Downtown Community Arena. Andrew Peard will have the call on Radio – Edmonton Oil Kings, with the pregame show starting at 6:50 PM.

Elsewhere, Red Deer travel to Calgary for their first of a back to back.

Dylan Gunther kept his scoring touch quite active, with 2 goals, and was named first star as the Oil Kings (3-0) made greasers of the Tigers (2-1) 4-2. Jalen Luypen, named third star, had the GWG and added an assist. Liam Keeler also had a goal (PP) Edand an assist. Ethan Cap, Jake Neighbours, Matthew Robertson and Kaid Oliver each had an assist. Sebastien Cossa (W 3-0) made 32 saves and was named second star.

Shots were 34-34. PP was 1/3, PK 6/8. Edmonton won 39 of 65 faceoffs.

Near Calgary, Brayden Peters stopped all 27 shots, as the Hitmen plugged the Rebels 2-0.

Thanks for the updates. Oil Kings were screwed last year by the pandemic, but they have most of their guys back, and continue to be a solid team and a real threat for a Memorial Cup appearance.
