I would actually add on to this a bit, would Edmonton do Kulak, Akey/Jarventie and a 2nd for Pettersson and O'Connor? I think the Penguins likely need a LD replacement for Pettersson and I could see O'Connor adding some positive value to the Oilers as well.

I also vaguely recall reading that the Oilers are interested in both Pettersson and O'Connor, but I may be misremembering that with O'Connor.
Oilers aren't trading Kulak.

That makes sense, the Penguins mostly just need a minute eater to replace Pettersson. If Kulak is playing great it doesn't make sense for the Oilers to trade him or the Penguins to target him. They just need a guy.

I think Pettersson for Akey/Jarventie and a 2nd alone is likely a good enough deal on its own. Akey makes sense from a need perspective but Jarventie also seems NHL ready or pretty close to it.

Depending on how Klingberg does, I'd imagine the OIl are more focused on a reliable LH vet they can park in the PB more than anything else. (reasonably speaking)

Ekholm-Bouchard
Nurse-Emberson/Kulak
Kulak-Klingerbg
______, Stecher

Give me someone like Domoulin, Martinez, Maatta. or even someone like Mike Reilly (if prices go up), and I'll be happy with that.

Maybe we could do Stecher. That would depend on how Klingberg looks. If Klingberg is truly good to play and we added Petttersson in theory we could move Stecher. Even still teams should have 8 NHL proven D for a playoff run and we do want to move Josh Brown out.

Stecher would be fine for that as well, it would just have the Penguins running with:

Joseph-Letang
Pickering-Karlsson
Graves-Stecher

Which I know is a horrendous defense, but they just need guys who can actually play minutes to end the year. It's not about having anyone great playing those minutes, just someone who is actually capable of playing those minutes.

If it's a warm body needed Josh Brown isn't good, but he can fight and play limited minutes. He wouldn't hurt an already horrendous D. I'd add a late round pick with him.

Akey + 2nd + Josh Brown + 5th
