I think the point is downgrading players so constantly is awful for the org as a whole.

There's more than player for player here. Playing Gleason meant they had to sit another veteran. Not the case for Attard.

Attard was also the better player last year, so it's not like it's some lopsided swap.

AHL all star in 2023, profiles a bit like Kesselring imo.

He's been Lehigh Valley's top scoring defenceman over the last few years, and he does fit the mold of what the Oil like on the blueline (size+skating ability). I don't think he's a proper answer to what they need, but it is a free scratch card.

If he shows well in Bakersfield during his first few games while his work visa clears, I wouldn't be surprised to see him up for Dermott in the near future.

Move doesn’t really make a ton of sense to me unless Dermott is getting sent down and Brown(gasp) or Kemp are going up.

I don’t mind taking a shot on Attard but I think Gleason is pretty decent and now we have even less depth on the left side.

Not a big deal in the grand scheme but feels like a strange move to me.
