He’s saved this teams ass on multiple occasions, guess you’ve missed those games. Shit games happen
you highlight exactly what i've been saying. He's average. For some reason, Blues fans take offense to their shiny golden god being referred to anything but Jesus Binnington. There's nothing wrong with being average. He's just not the guy you all make him out to be.

Saw people say that about the Nashville and Carolina games.

They were wrong about both. Nashville outplayed us 5v5 and Carolina was even. This is the first game this season where we legitimately had the better play even strength and lost.

Sooner or later Blues fans are going to have to admit that while he was amazing during the cup run, Binnington is just an average goalie.

maybe once his results start looking like an average goalie and not like this

Alright Doug, what’s your grand plan to replace him then?

lets see how they bounce back vs arizona. they need to come out and play a complete game. regardless of whatever covid crap has done to this team, 3-4-2 or whatever they are since going 5-0 is not a recipe for success in this division.

The goaltending the past 3 games has started to be leaky and the defense is flat out brutal half the time.

On a better note....

Kyrou now has 16 points in 14 games, Thomas as 15 points in 14 games, and Tarasenko has 14 points in 14 games. Buchnevich is climbing up as well with 8 points in 12 games with 5 points in the past 5 games, Thomas has 7 points in the past 3 games.

I've been saying Binnington is an average goalie for years but he's been well beyond that so far this season by every metric.

How is it talking shit if he was true to his positioning he would have saved 3 goals?
I only saw 1 goal where (Drai scored) that he should have had his stick down and didn't and paid for it. the other 2 where from the dots and in, and the one he got a piece of after the player had all day to settle it and shoot it
the other is the guy cutting down the middle and roofing a shot that was def not a softie
outside of that, I also saw a dozen good to great saves.
could he be better? sure
could the D help him more.. absolutely
it's a rough stretch.. this too shall pass

Other woes aside, I'm glad offensive talent finally isn't an issue with this team.

at least we can agree: He's average. 13th in sv pct and 20th in GAA. After tonight, it's gonna look worse and he's trending down. Maybe he needs a rest, maybe he needs better defensive personnel. But the bottom line is, he's not the superstar everyone here is trying to paint him as no matter the advanced metric. You can pull any stat out of your rear to make a point but at the end of the day the results speak for themselves. He isn't making the saves he's supposed to be making regardless of the "muh high danger" shots. You can save all the high danger shots you want but if you let soft goals in that you and I can that's telling. He's average. You don't have to like it. Just accept it.

A goaltender who usually makes the saves he's suppose to make and some saves he's not suppose to make is a solid goaltender any way you look at it, and those goaltenders are not abundant. Jaro Halak? Nope. Jake Allen? Nope. Brian Elliot? Nope. The Blues have been looking for a guy like Binnington for decades, and it's hilariously convenient to call him average after a game where he wasn't his best.

A few people didn't like that he was acknowledging the best players in the league

It’s every f***ing game… Panger goes out of his way to praise the other team

If he’s on a National broadcast I get it but holy hell it’s annoying as f*** every game.. he’s like the opposing teams fan that gets to shit on the Blues GDT every f***ing game
