Ah! I get it. He will score a few wicked goals leaving you salivating for more. The guy is definitely skilled, but lacks the motivation to be consistent.

why exactly does it suck for Kapanen? He got waived and would have been sent to Springfield. Now he gets to play more NHL games, and on a good team, no less.

No escrow to pay in the AHL...

It's not a bad sign either. Just means there is no risk.

He's like the antithesis of his father. Sami was a gritty, hard-working player with good hockey IQ, but average skill and undersized, however he consistently performed above his abilities and lack of size through hard work and understanding of the game. Sami was a very versatile player who could play on any line, and was very defensively responsible (even played D on a couple occasions IIRC). Kasperi is blessed with natural talent and god tier skating ability but he just never seemed to have that same passion and drive for the game, he doesn't like getting involved with the gritty side of the game and still makes the mistakes he did as a 21-22 year old. It almost feels like Kasperi just thought the game would come easy to him and he'd be a stud but it never worked out that way.
