Czech writer has linked the Edmonton Oilers interested in Dominik Kubalik.

https://thehockeywriters.com/oilers-linked-to-dominik-kubalik-in-trade-talks/

Quote from the article:

A pending RFA with arbitration rights, the Blackhawks are believed to be a team that will undergo massive changes this offseason. They could move a number of players this season and among the names mentioned have been Marc-Andre Fleury, Dylan Strome, Calvin de Haan, and even Patrick Kane (although that one feels like a bit of a stretch). Kubalik’s name has been out there in trade rumors and Duhatschek writes that Czech media has the Oilers interested.

Kubalik can score, but he’s struggling this season. He had 17 goals last season in just 56 games but he’s failed to maintain a pace anywhere close to his first two years nor gain any traction playing alongside Jonathan Toews — with who he had chemistry with a couple of seasons ago. He has 11 points at even strength (7 goals) and he’s played every game for the Blackhawks this year. He has one goal and one assist in the last 12 games and his lack of success is puzzling.

Acquiring a forward when your team is dying for a goalie seems like a Holland move. Then again, after watching Mike Smith last night, Kubalik might be an improvement in net.

"might be" is a kindness to Smith.

Since coming back from his early season injury, here's his SV% in every appearance.

for a 3-6-1 record and an .881 SV%

Over seas reporters are not credible see Jeff Carter signing in Switzerland as exhibit A
So one guy isn't credible and made a weird claim, so all overseas reporters are no good?

I mean, most people online talking about rumours aren't the most credible so you're probably right, but I don't think you can say its because he is from overseas either.

That said, the Oilers are still hurting at right wing (Pulujarvi - injured, Yamamoto, Kassian - injured, plugs). We're playing our left wingers at right wing right now due to injury (most can play both but it ruins the depth anyway. I only say this because if you look at the Oilers "needs" list, a scoring RW is probably 3rd on the list, behind a starting goalie and a shutdown defenseman.

I trust the big 5 Bobby Mack, Leburn Freidman, Johnston and Dreger that's it.

Those are the guys, they are the connected guys

Even Seravalli hasn't gotten much right since the expansion draft.

I don't understand why Seravalli has a button on this site but not Chris Johnston

Folks probably shunning Seravalli after he was a douche and ruined Seattle's ED show.

Kubalik and Fleury (both hawks pay half) for Holloway ,2nd rder , 4th rder , Grampa Smith

This trade would set the Oilers back further in every season after this one way more than it would benefit us this season.

We aren't a Fleury away from winning it all sadly. We need more defensive presence on the backend.

I would trade him for anything. How about either Tullio or Petrov and a 6th rd pick for Kubalik

This years Edmonton Oilers + Kubalik is much further away from the Stanley Cup than next years Oilers + Petrov.

That’s obviously excluding the cap relief Oilers get from Petrov in his ELC and having a prospect of his caliber in his prime.

Don’t think the risk is worth it for them. Petrov’s numbers are ridiculous, if you draft a player that late, and he’s performing this well, might as well hang onto him and see what you have.
