Yakupov + Reinhart

Let's bring Reino back to where dad made his career.

Reading all these comments from Oilers fans saying they wouldn't accept Kylington + a 2nd round pick has actually given me a good laugh. Yakupov isn't even worth a 2nd alone, let alone one of Calgary's top prospects.

To Calgary
Yakupov

Edmonton gets a defensive prospect with offensive upside,
Calgary gets a young RW to try to revive his career

This is definitely over payment today - I think the Flames laugh at that offer right now. That being said, I do not want to give up on Yak yet even though it appears the Oiler's management and coaching has. They need to give Yak 40 games in a top six role.

I want no part of Wideman in any way, shape or form.

No thanks. I say we hang onto Yakupov if these are the offers.

Speak for yourself. The Oilers take that and run. Hell, even one of those assets is an overpayment considering Yak's current market value.

I'd rather not see Yak in Calgary on the off chance that he breaks out there.

unless the Oilers are taking back a VERY bad contract. Yakupov's value is about 5th or 6th and even then they might need to eat contract to even get that

This is terrible. The Oilers would put him on waivers, where it is guaranteed somebody would take him and his contract for nothing. They are not going to eat one dollar of his contract for a fifth or sixth round pick.

I'd be interested in giving Yak a shot on the Flames, but a 2nd + Kylington is way too much. I wouldn't even do a 2nd + Wideman, with nothing retained. Wideman will likely be worth a late 2nd at the deadline to a contender looking for a RHD who specializes on the PP. I'd offer Wideman for Yak. But if we have to retain salary at all, I'd offer nothing more. If we retain nothing at all, I'd add a 3rd.

So...

Wideman + 3rd '17 for Yak
or
Wideman (~$1.5m-$2m retained) for Yak

I actually think Wideman would thrive in Edmonton so I'm hesitant to even offer that. And if they chose to, the Oilers should have no trouble moving him for a late 2nd at the deadline. (Without retention), that gives the Oilers a late 2nd + a 3rd for Yak, which is above market value apparently.

I'd take a spin on Yak but not at that cost. If Yak gets traded for what he's actually worth (3rd rnd pick with a small add, if that). I can't imagine how Signed would react if he's already this sensitive just talking about Yak hahahaha

No thanks I wouldn't trade a second alone for Yak.

Prepare to be disappointed in the return Oilers fans you're GM is pretty poor with his trade record in the league.

Got to think as bad as Yakupov has been Edmonton wouldn't trade him to Calgary.

This. The Oilers would lose him for free before they dealt him to CGY for anything, even if CGY's offer was the best.

29/30 organizations would take the pragmatic approach and take the best deal but I think the Oilers would just as soon cut off their nose to spite their face on this one.

Serve up the links that say so instead of just claiming it.

Show all these 'insiders' as you claim.

No thanks. I say we hang onto Yakupov if these are the offers.

Because YOU 'say so' ?

Not very convincing. Here. Lets make it real simple

You worry about the Flames players. We will worry about our own players. Thanks in advance. :)

Would love to hear your opinion on the trade

I would have gladly done Wideman (1.5 retained)+2017 2nd+Brett Pollock.

Would that have been worth trading him to a rival?

Oilers didnt have to trade him to CGY
Oilers didnt have to pick up salary (Wideman)

so really not too bad .. Like most Oil fans here said.. rather lose him for nothing than do the Flames favors.. enjoy ur Wideman.
