I feel like the value’s probably fair, but the cap doesn’t work for Boston so it’s a total non starter, before you even consider that they’d be unlikely to move Carlo

If Kane were an isotope, he'd be Uranium-235. The dude's fissile... radioactive, man. No one's touching that contract.

There's no interest in Ceci either.

This has two crappy contracts that the Oilers very much want to dump (and everyone knows it), in exchange for a very useful defenseman who is on a good contract, with nice term left to boot. Carlo's likely going nowhere.

A proposal needs to meet the needs of both sides. A salary dump needs to include a carrot, not that this is any guarantee the other side will agree to do it. This has two salary dumps.

Even if he is one of the Oilers' top prospects, and it's the best they have to offer, Xavier Bourgault is not exactly setting the world on fire in Bakersfield the last two seasons.

It's not enough... and it's entirely possible nothing will be enough. Boston is in its contention window and isn't taking back salary dumps. This is the wrong trade partner for an Oilers team seeking to dump bad contracts. Arizona isn't in the league anymore, so the typical land where misfit toys end up is closed now as well.

The Oilers have no interest in Carlo

Oilers fan for 40 years… living in Boston. Oilers would most definitely be interested in Carlo in nearly any circumstance… he’s one of the better defensive D in the league.

Bruins fans, please excuse our rogue faction and refrain from illustrating your point by using the name Draisaitl… we can handle this and you aren’t adding to the conversation.
