We didn't bring him in to be a fighter. As long as he plays with some grit, throws some hits, and will occasionally get a little bit greasy, he'll bring what we need him to. We have Correy Perry of all people doing that now, and while he's willing to do it, he's older than Jesus and shouldn't be expected to be the only forward pushing back and adding some grittiness.Frederic isn't this tough guy that people make him out to be even though he throws hands once in a while. With that said, he does add some solid depth to EDM if he can pick up his game and start scoring again. Time will tell.
I'm thrilled with this return as a Bruins fan though.
If we're lucky, all of the good deals will be made before then anyway. Everybody wins! This site is going to be an absolute catastrophe to use on Friday. It's borderline unusable now.
I dunno, at least Frederic looks to bring something that we are missing. It's not like we have brought in another aging scoring winger who isn't scoring. I'm fine with the addition. I kind of wish we had the space to bring in a 3C so we could shift Henrique to the wing, but we're so full on the wings now that I already don't see how we can fit them all in.There are no credible rumors the team is seeking a goalie (the exact opposite actually). We can definitely criticize them for that while prioritizing yet another middle/bottom six forward on a team loaded with them over a G or top four D.
Gordie’s little brotherwho is Shane Lachance?
We don’t need an enforcer. We need an energy player that can score more than 0 goals when not stapled to a superstar lolTF will barely drop the gloves unless absolutely forced
He is not an enforcer by no means
Glad to see him gone however wish him good luck
Kane not physical? Yes when he was ailed with all of those injuries.Neither of those players are that physical anymore, and both will be coming off injuries. It’s a high risk low reward move
Are you kidding me? Now they have someone who can finally stand up to that thug Makar. Why lmao? Frederic is terrible and addresses zero needs for the oilers?
Why not...Return sounds about right for Frederic. Essentially a 2nd and a 4th. Having a rough year, but he's better than the scoring numbers suggest. Good 3rd line player on a cup contender.
It looks like the Devils are taking a small swing at an interesting 6'5"/218 depth prospect in exchange for taking on some of Frederic's cap hit.
Theres just no goalies out there available thats a significant upgrade over what they have. They most likely will go after a dman too but honestly the d has done better than their forward group this season. They are last in the league in hits so Frederics physical play is well needed.Interesting Oilers would use assets on a bottom 6 fwd instead of prioritizing goalie or dman.
They won 1 playoff round in the last decade, how the hell are they contenders? Why would NJD do this as a contender? Moronic
On the contrary.Theres just no goalies out there available thats a significant upgrade over what they have. Not after theyve had a couple weeks with Schwartz.. Gibson is a wild card, injury prone and have been bad for like 4 seasons straight before this one. Binnington I like more, obviously a gamer and a winner but very up and down aswell. On the contrary.
Nearly every goalie is a significant upgrade over what we have.
There's quite a bit of smoke regarding Gibson and Binnington.
I think they will for sure try him next to Draisaitl first. None of his wingers ever work..The hope would be he is a Podkolzin that can actually score.Uh so Frederick to take Henirique's spot?
There's a ton of fan-smoke. Not much team smoke. On the contrary.
Nearly every goalie is a significant upgrade over what we have.

They miss Foegele and McLeod's speed for sure. More forechecking is good, and I do think adding that element to the 3rd line should help.I'll let Oilers fans disabuse me if I am incorrect, but I wonder if this deal isn't designed to help their forecheck by shaking up their bottom six. Have they missed Foegele and McLeod?
