great value for Edler, the best part about the deal though was Gillis breaking the news, fleeces Edlers agent then breaks the news himself, god what a beauty

Any information regarding NTC, NMC in the extention? Excellent deal btw, Gillis is the man!!! Was concerned that Alex may test the UFA market, way to retain those assets!!!!

Love the discount Edler took! But at the same time, I get it. The dude just banked 30 million dollars. Leaving a few mill on the table as a 'thanks' to the Canucks is the mutually beneficial thing to do. The Canucks provide a quality of life that few other teams can boast. Being a Canuck is more a lifestyle than it is a job. Full credit goes to Gillis for creating this little ecosystem.

What a fantastic deal! Even a hardcore Canuck hater would have a hard time trashing this deal.

You'd think so, but the trade board would prove otherwise. Some Leafs fan's sock puppet/troll account is all over this. It's sad that some people have nothing better to do on a Friday night than that.

According to Botch, Edler has an NTC.

Even better.

What an awesome deal. The fact that they could get him at that price while only buying up to his age 33 year is pretty incredible.
