I'm not the least bit surprised. All the talk for years was getting out of the first round. Once that monkey was lifted off their backs, there's always a risk of complacency kicking in as they feel like they made a monumental achievement- made monumental psychologically by the constant talk and questions about it by the media over the years.

I'm not opposed to moving on from Dubas either, you can ridicule his RFA negotiations that's fair. But it's not Dubas' fault that the core star players do not show up. That's on them and coaching. Look at the bottom 6 this year or even this series, they are doing their job. It is once again, the core guys failing to do anything. Like did the 4 of them even generate a scoring chance tonight ?

His downfall might be that he thought Keefe was the right coach.

Keefe always reminded me of Boudreau for the Caps.

The Florida Panthers will be remembered for destroying this Leafs core. Whether it ends up as a good thing or bad thing for Leaf fans remains to be determined, but this group cannot just keep continuing to do what they do. Major shakeup is needed.
