And Toronto lost to that. At 3-1.

Habs fans and talking about the past.

Name a more iconic duo.

What's next, you're going to tell me you have the most cups before the league expanded to 25 teams?

Enjoy the draft lottery or pick a team to bandwagon for the next decade, going to be rough for you guys.

3-1 in 2021 is enough. I'd rather talk about the past - at least we have one, both old and recent - than accusing refs of having it out for a coach because of some abuser like you did.

Cringing at the amount of people saying this series is over. Game 3 is crucial but man it's faaaaaaaaar from over.

People never learn lol.
Sure the leafs may win a couple but the Panthers will win at least one at home. Then its game over. Just because the Panthers came back from 3-1, theres zero chance the leafs will do it. We're seen too much over the years.

It's 2023.

Anyway, I'm watching playoff hockey. Enjoy the reminiscing.

True enough but at the same time, Toronto's recent history does not exactly speak to a team with the confidence to mount a comeback like this. Losing both at home... is isn't good!

Had a weird feeling about this series ever since seeing a Toronto news channel broadcast groups of Leaf fans chanting "we want Florida!" in the celebrations following their Game 6 win over Tampa. (At this time FLA had yet to advance past Boston). Idk, it just felt like really bad juju to basically say you want a team because you think they're easiest possible opponent. Be careful what you wish for, I guess?

Bobrovsky is great, but no goalie should be doing that well against a team using so much cap space on its 'elite goalscorers'.
Thats been our (leafs) issue since Dubas kept this monster going for all these years.

It's 2023 and the Leafs still haven't won a game in round 2 in 20 years.

If the Leafs win, then it's the third round right?

The Leafs have never finished 32nd in the NHL in their history. That's the biggest recent accomplishment the Habs have.

Leafs could win 4 in a row. It's hockey all it takes is a run of lucky bounces and you can win. Now obviously it's better to not need to do that.

Florida for the dark horse....

No chance, they are not playing good hockey. Those cinderella runs we see every now and then, the teams play structured hockey and even though they might not have been an elite regular season team, they really pick up the 5 on 5 play and play like an elite team in the playoffs. The skaters for Florida have been really bad so far apart from the Tkachuk line, there's been a couple soft goals from Samsonov and some incredible saves from Bobrovsky.

If Bobrovsky stays hot he can win them this round, but the brand of hockey they're playing won't win them the cup. Gotta pick up the 5 on 5 play big time, elite goaltending can only take you so far. Like the Habs run to the finals, at some point you'll need your skaters to outplay the opposing skaters, it hasn't happened so far.

Leaf fans, if you guys lose in the second round, do you give Dubas / the team a pass, or would you want major changes? If so, what? Genuinely curious, and not saying they're done here or anything.

I dunno, now that all the experienced playoff teams are out it seems like a coin flip and up for grabs. Panthers have as good of a shot as anyone else that is left.
