Well, the last time the Devils won a big game, I went to the archery range before the game...so here I am. Not shooting particularly well but I'm here nonetheless.

Graves is hurt and the options are Smith or Luke. They put in Luke.
What would need to happen, vibe wise, for them to give you the impression they still had hope for this series?

We will see our best performance of the series today. I think we will pull it off and I am praying for a momentum shift which will happen sooner or later, hopefully today game 3.
The Devils are STILL an excellent team and will hopefully deliver the fans a 2-1 series to continue the battle for the cup!

Remember when we were done 2-0 and we looked kinda out of the series…? Ruff make changes that looked odd at the time… we know how that worked out.. I would not call putting Luke in over Smith a panic, throwing in the towel move by any means.

I’ll be really disappointed if this team down 0-2 can gut out a win on the road at msg but can’t do the same at home for the fans. Make a statement go up 3-0 in the first ppg to boot

Joshing of course, and I was not one who was pushing for Luke from the get go in order to get the most talented lineup out there, his youth and lack of experience are concerns, especially against a team like Carolina which has thus far made the Devils look unprepared for this series. But even while I considered the downsides, I can't ignore that Hughes is most likely the most talented D-man on the roster, almost surely the best skater, and his ability to push the puck could prove to be a key in unlocking Carolina's system.
Graves struggles made the Luke option more palatable and the injury was a deal maker. Zero interest in seeing Smith out there again. Real excited to see Luke, especially since I'll be there.

I'll be dissapointed if this game looks like the first 2. But the first 2 made what should have been apparent going in, undeniable, Carolina is a very good squad.
I just can't ask for or expect a dominant NJ performance. Play with energy and get the W. That's what we need. And if we compare it to the Rag's series, remember that 3rd game was a super tight OT W.
I drove down from ontario last night for my first devils game guys no way we lose this! Anyone know what time the gates open for devils game and also what bars near the arena do fans usually go
Doors are 2pm today, they are doing a whole thing in championship plaza today, right near the box office/team store that will have live music and food trucks, drinks etc and also redds right in the same spot has a ton of tables outside and you can drink out there as well.
Appreciate it awesome day for that too!

So when they play Vitek today, if he serves up yet another dud and Luke happens to be on the ice for one of the goals against, you know there's gonna be a very small but very loud contingent here to blame him for that.

The only panic move today would be to start Vitek. He hasn't even played particularly well in relief these last two games. Let in a stinker in both.
He wasn't that bad in game 2 against the Rangers. That was mostly about the Rangers PP, but he let in two bad ones in game 1.
Akira's GSAx last game was just -0.77
He was playing fine until that very late 2nd period cowboy move he pulled that resulted in goal 4.
If we lose today then start him game 4. I don't care if we start Vanecek, Blackwood, Daws, Cam Johnson or 51 year old Marty at that point.
