Leafs need to take a page out of Tampa's book. Tampa swept these guys last year, Florida had no answer to their highly disciplined and structured system, and their defense and goaltending got chewed apart.
True, but they’re not the same team as last year. New coach and new best player.

The Panthers had a terrible start to the season, however since Christmas, the two teams had very similar records.

Probable Keefe lines:

Knies - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Tavares - Nylander
Järnkrok - O'Reilly - Acciari
Kerfoot - Kämpf - Lafferty

Rielly - Schenn
McCabe - Brodie
Giordano - Liljegren

Would prefer:

Knies - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - O'Reilly - Nylander
Järnkrok - Tavares - Acciari
Kerfoot - Kämpf - Lafferty

Rielly - Schenn
McCabe - Liljegren
Gustafsson - Brodie

An extra 10m+ opening up in cap space this summer could make the panthers legit contenders next season.

How many times has a team lost both games at home to open the series and still win? I vaguely remember it happening in the 2000's sometime but it has to be uber-rare. I do remember one famous one in Leafs' history when the Leafs went into Philadelphia and won the two opening games against the Flyers at the Spectrum (1977) and carried a lead into the last minute of the 3rd game losing it after a late goal then OT goal. Then they lost the next 3 games.

Been a while...

I think the last time was New Jersey in 2023

Agree
Gio needs a game off to rest

Forgotten is that that Knight is out for the Panthers.

Also missing their #1G, Spencer Knight, who I believe is out with mental health issue ??

"#1"... he may turn into a good goalie... but no clue how he got a 5 million dollar contract.

They have $15 million tied up in two average goalies currently.

In game 1 at times it seemed like the Leafs were just toying with the Panthers. We were all over them except for the finish.

Panthers credit to them scored on their few chances.

Im Not worried about this game 2. I think we win handily.

I mostly feel the same except for the goalie factor - no guarantee Bobs doesn't play like a Conn Smythe winner again and we all know goalies can steal games.

I hope we're done with the "Kampf against Tkachuk line" expirement forever. Putting your 4th line against the other team's 1st is pure insanity, no matter how you rationalize it. Wake up, Keefe.
