If the core all show up in what is a rare experience, the leafs would score 8 goals. Dmen (looking at Mccabe right now) that unnecessarily jump into the offensive play when their partner is already there should be given a smack. I saw Marner last game playing south of the blue line for a spell to cover defense that didn't exist. This is Justin Holl kind of dumb.

Bigger concern is containing their top line. Do they go with the three Matt’s, Austin, Knies and Door.

Slight problem if their stars outscore our stars. I'd go line #1 vs line #1. If we have the puck in their end, Tkachuk can't hurt you on the score sheet much.

Sadly, I think the Leafs have been winning in spite of him.

It does seem to be an issue when Keefe worries too much about matchups.

As strange as it may sound, I think Keefe is our Achilles' heel.

Expecting this game to go like game 2 vs Tampa. Although we lost game 1, I saw lots of positives. We just got carried away trying to match their physicality and ultimately it cost us the game. Keefe and the group will surely have discussed that and will tighten up defensively. Play our game and don't get dragged into their scrums and what not.

Nylander needs to step the f*** up though. I dunno what's wrong with him but he played soft as hell and it just irritates the living crap out of me, because he's so talented. That play where he spun around the defender, he could've gone in, he had a man crashing the net as well but once again he got scared of contact and skated up to the blue line, we need more out of him. I think he has 0 5v5 points so far in the playoffs ? Completely unacceptable.

Matthews will probably bury 1 or 2, he had lots of chances last game but I think they over thought the game. Scouting report was blocker side on Bob, couple times Matthews had him completely beat over the glove but forced the puck to the blocker side. Can't overthink the game that much, take what the defence/goalie gives you.

Overall feel pretty confident about this game and the series, just tighten up defensively, no unnecessary pinches/hits and stick to our game. Play to our strengths and they can't match us.

Going on the road down 2 would make it unlikely.

So get it done tonight and I love our chances.

They switched Marner and Nylander last game to go head to head with the Tkachuk line last game.

I'd like them to move Marner to the O'Reilly line and match them against Tkachuk and let Matty's line focus on scoring.

And give Tavares the grinders he's needs to work his down low game.

f*** Tkachuk and Bennett, let Maurice worry about matching them. We have 3 solid lines that are capable of playing against them. If they become that much of a problem, put Marner/Matthews back together and let Tkachuk worry about defending against them, instead of the other way around.

Tkachuk is a f***ing beast though.

Doesn't sound strange at all. I've always felt they've won in spite of him and he's holding them back.
