You absolutely take Timo over bratt. Besides the fact the devils have more invested in Timo he’s the better player

That's great. He did score a game 3 winner. With that said, he is slow and gets beat way too much. Shouldn't give passes for crap play because a player did one great thing.

We are really inexperienced and have to learn on the fly apparently.

Bottom line is you won't often get past the second round when Erik Haula is your leading scorer and when Michael McLeod (who went almost 50 games without a goal) has as many goals as Bratt, Hischier and Meier combined and more goals actually scored on a goaltender than all of them combined.

You won't even get past the first round all that often when those players aren't scoring.

Look at that third goal. Three devils got out worked for the puck. First couldn’t get control due to the cane delivering a solid hit. Second one got outmuscled. Last one (Bratt) thought he could just get control with a finesse puck handle and predictably lost it to the hungrier grittier canes player. That’s a pretty good illustration of the issue with him.

I don’t want us to let him walk. He is of course a valuable player, but I rely hope that this absolute gong show in the playoffs has decreased his $ a bit. I would not be happy paying him a cent over $7m
