Hurricanes offence - chip and chase , work puck low to high , everyone go to the net for point shot. If they do that enough they think eventually they will fluke one in. It’s ugly but that’s all they can do. That and counter if we turn it over in the neutral zone. We need to find a way to pressure the points but it’s hard as we support our D down low because they have such an agressive forecheck .

About tacos.. I thought tacos only meant like the hard shell ones, I'm not a huge fan of those. Then I started seeing you guys post pictures of soft shells that looked like tortillas. So apparently those count aswell.

So I was like alright, why not. I love tortillas. Its late night, I start cooking the ground beef, cutting vegetables, making a great sauce.. then it hits me. I actually didnt buy any tortillas. Had to make pasta instead.

This was before game 6.

So I made sure to buy both soft and hard shells this weekend.

This story never wouldve seen the daylight if we lost game 7. :sarcasm:

Taco places mostly don't even serve hard shell tacos any more, you need to buy them in the supermarket.

I remember hating tacos when I was younger because no matter how you ate them they turned into a f***ing mess and you ended up with a big pile of soggy taco ingredients on your plate.

But recently I had some hard shell tacos, and I don't know if they make them different now, but they mostly stayed together and I actually liked them better than soft tacos.

Was supposed to have the game to reward me after a final round job interview with the GC of an $8B company this afternoon.

But the hiring manager, a guy I have known semi-personally for like 8 years (and worked with before!) cancelled my entire round of 5! interviews 24 hours hours before they started because he decided he had a cohort of the final candidates he wanted to do first. They cancelled them in the system, and nobody contacted me about any of this this until I emailed them about it. And they didn’t even have the sense to lie or the guts to just cut me loose as a candidate and instead just told me that fact to my face, and informed me they’d have an update end of next week.

Needless to say my rage absolutely incandesces, and I could really use a dub tonight.

That's just illegal. I truly need to try and find out if there's anything even close to those things here.. might have to move to a southern part of Finland, but that food alone covers a big deal of the problems they have. Too many frigging people being one of them..

Now I'm hungry.

That sucks man. It's absolutely awful when you're looking for a new job. I just went through some of the same shit myself. I had been looking since August, and finally got an offer in mid-March, and started a few weeks ago. Some horror stories from my job search:

I went through 8 interviews over 3 days with one company (that I had worked at before) only to find out that the job had been basically promised to an internal candidate, and I had no chance from the start. Why waste everyone's time?

Another company tried to interview me for a different position (which I was not interested in) than the one I applied for, then tried to gaslight me that I had applied to that one.

Another company had me interview with the hiring manager and 4 others, and told me that I did great, they loved my qualifications, and they would be fools not to hire me... but that they would be passing anyway because I didn't give some bigwig a "warm and fuzzy" feeling. I'm a data scientist, not a kindergarten teacher, so what the f*** does "warm and fuzzy" have to do with it?

The company I finally landed with was responsive and transparent, interviewed me for positions I was interested in, gave me timely and honest feedback, and made a strong offer which I accepted. Incredible how many places can't do that.

weren’t you a big Moe’s guy back in the day? or was it that you hates Moe’s?

I like Moe's too. I actually went there for lunch yesterday.

But I like to switch it up sometimes, and it just so happens I'm running some errands this afternoon near where there's a Chipotle. Might as well go.

Last paragraph is spot on. My wife has been looking for a job since December immediately after she started her new one, wound up quitting her job in January since she was on the verge of a mental breakdown, and is now finally waiting on a formal offer from a place she really likes.

The lack of responsiveness from various HR reps has been infuriating. She followed up with one that we felt good about but had ghosted her for about a week, and they responded "we'll pass" as if she asked her if she wanted dessert.

If you're hiring for a role and you like someone, just f***ing hire them. Don't make it such a production.

The Hurricanes are basically the Man City of hockey, which is my platonic ideal of a hockey play style but shouldn't actually be as practical as they make it. The traditional defense to that in soccer is to just let them have it and beat them on the counter, which in theory our team should be good at but is far outside of our standard defensive zone scheme. It's a fun chess match and interesting to see who ends up coming out on top.
