Gonna have to work for every inch this series. Canes make nothing easy. Devils look better than beginning of last game, obviously, but the last half of that period definitely tilted. Canes are very tough and decisive with the puck. And pounce on everything. Hopefully Devils can adjust more. They're going to have to make faster decisions.
and support each other in the exits - indirect exits throwing the puck to a spot and skating to it - sometimes off the boards - work well too against this sort of pressure.

The hit on graves came from just behind and seems like it's been called boarding plenty of times because he wasn't up against the boards and he shoved him into it from a blindside not 90 degrees. I dunno how they're gonna call anything anymore.

Dude it was shoulder on shoulder and even if it was square in the back, he turned.

Gonna be bit of a negative Nancy for a bit.

I dont think our top players (Nico, Jack, Bratt, Timo, Dougie) have been bad or awful at any point. But we definitely need more from them. All of them. Theres no way 8 games in Nico, Bratt, Timo and Dougie should be combined for 2 goals, one of which is an empty netter.

We've been very lucky to get some great depth scoring and Akira stepping up. Our top guys are on cold streaks and you can definitely lose your run on that. Like I said, dont think any of them have been bad. But they need to break out of their slumps like yesterday if we want to advance.

I do think Nico has done great job shutting down enemies top line so far, which probably takes away from his offensive game. Still he needs to get on the scoreboard.

I do think the season is already a success though and whatever happens is only gonna make them stronger for the future. I just think theres more to gain if everything goes right.

That being said. Go out there and get the first goal!
Realistic, not negative

This is how we looked against Carolina all year. They’re the worst matchup for us in the entire NHL.
Yeah, but I don't remember them physically dominating us too. They went up a gear and we went down one.
I thought we dominated the first 1/2 of the period ? Seemed like it to me.
If we want to win this series , we HAVE TO get our PP going. Still not putting it on net enough .
I the first few minutes , Severson had a good look but put it high and wide…..hit the Fing net
The half of the period where we had constant power plays? Not sure I call that dominating. We lost at 5v5 the entire period.

Ya why is he in ove Boqvist ? Makes zero sense to me.
We played good first half of the period. Need to get back to that . They are forechecking as agressive as shit . How can we not get odd man rushes once we break out ? If they have 3 or 3 deep and pinching ? Go with the old log it out pass . It’s worked for us before when under siege
It is a terrible decision. At least Boqvist or Yegor can play with skilled players. Lazar is only a 4th liner and does not belong on that line.

I think Bratt's been awful
Thats a fair opinion.

To me he's been bit invisible at times, made a bad play here and there. He's been very meh. I dont think he's been a net negative or something. He leaves you wanting for more and thats why it feels like he's been awful. I'd rather call him disappointing based on what we as fans know about him.

Regarding Bratt.

He’s still been good on the transition. He’s absolutely helping there still. The lack of room in the offensive zone is what’s killing him. He needs to put on his big boy pants on in the O zone.
