Barely happened at all this season, we almost always out shoot and out chance our opponent. Carolina does this to almost every team though. They are the corsi kings.

It did happen vs Carolina though. Let’s be honest both regular season games in Carolina were among the worst of the performances, they got bailed out by a good 3rd period in the second. It is a tough building to play in, they are going to have to figure out a way to steal one.

0-0 on the road.

We played that entire period with no poise and no patience...skating right into their D all in a line, throwing pucks randomly into the neutral zone and backing way off the blueline.

We did everything wrong just like games 1&2 of last series and no harm.

They are pounding us and our little guys are disappearing.

We just need to chill and get the puck deep on the forecheck, and be sure to get back into position in the neutral zone to trap and neutralize their speed.

If we continue to try to force their way in with bad passes, turning the puck over,...we are toast.
If we change the narrative by scoring one goal so they have to press into US... We win this thing.

Yeah, I'm watching on my own without checking here and I thought they were fine. Would've been awesome to score on those PP chances. Gonna check back on this board only if they're winning to join in on the party. I just don't see how that was a "pathetic period".
That's what I should do lmao. I keep looking on here during games and I get more angry with the takes than the supposed "horrible play".

Gonna have to work for every inch this series. Canes make nothing easy. Devils look better than beginning of last game, obviously, but the last half of that period definitely tilted. Canes are very tough and decisive with the puck. And pounce on everything. Hopefully Devils can adjust more. They're going to have to make faster decisions.

Yeah, gotta give credit to the other side here. Unlike the Rags, they're actually good and not just paper tigers
The Canes were one of the few teams that was able to tilt the ice against us at times in a couple of the regular season games (although we went 1-0-1 in the games I'm thinking of).

Gonna be bit of a negative Nancy for a bit.

I dont think our top players (Nico, Jack, Bratt, Timo, Dougie) have been bad or awful at any point. But we definitely need more from them. All of them. Theres no way 8 games in Nico, Bratt, Timo and Dougie should be combined for 2 goals, one of which is an empty netter.

We've been very lucky to get some great depth scoring and Akira stepping up. Our top guys are on cold streaks and you can definitely lose your run on that. Like I said, dont think any of them have been bad. But they need to break out of their slumps like yesterday if we want to advance.

I do think Nico has done great job shutting down enemies top line so far, which probably takes away from his offensive game. Still he needs to get on the scoreboard.

I do think the season is already a success though and whatever happens is only gonna make them stronger for the future. I just think theres more to gain if everything goes right.

That being said. Go out there and get the first goal!

Gotta say, this game isn't feeling that great so far.
Decent first ten minutes .. then outplayed the rest of the way. It looks like Carolina is clearly the better team. The Devils really can't seem to generate serious scoring chances.
