What a statement game from the Canes. Total domination. I'd say it's series over but it's the Bruins. They know how to do it.
I would love these teams to play 5v5Last change and line matching are pretty much deciding the entire series. As elite as Bergeron may be, there's a certain kind of center who has shut him down in the playoffs and gotten the better of him in the face-off dot. O'Reilly did it, Jay Beagle did it, and now it's Staal absolutely doing it. Plus they're just eating Carlo and Gryz alive. Maybe Lindholm coming back and mixing up d pairs may alleviate that, but it doesn't seem likely. The Bruins may win at home in game 6, but in Raleigh for game 7 with Brindamour having last change it really feels like they're f***ed.
All I want is the refs to chill a bit and put the whistles down and let the teams play.
I would love these teams to play 5v5
Marchand is 34, Aho 24. Marchand stats when 24 were worse than Aho.Marchand has been much better than Aho. In every single season of Ahos career. Marchand would have out produced him again by 10+pts while still being elite on the PK and defensively. He’s killing him in the playoffs so far. You keep bringing up that he “hasn’t scored 100pts in three seasons” while ignoring the last two haven’t been full seasons and he was third in league scoring last year.
It’s not a debate who’s a better player
If Canes win in 7 does that mean the series never even happened?so pundits tell me this series hasn't really begun yet

Funny cuz Carolina had more PP the entire series, amd a wide margin in the 3 games played in CarolinaThey have played plenty of 5v5 this year and Carolina absolutely dominated Boston.
Bruins have no chance if the games are played 5v5. The two games Boston has won had 9 Powerplays in one game and 2 PPG + 1 SHG in the other.
The biggest disappointment in this series is that Hall/Haula/Pasta line failing to carry over their success to the post season. It was always a risk since they were essentially a rush only line, but didn't expect it to be so bad it needed to be abandoned after a game and a half.

Or as a talented player when you gain nhl experience you produce more. Let’s see Aho in 3 years in his prime (and don’t forget with RBA as his coach o stats will be somewhat suppressed since he demands two-way play).I think most educated fans know that Marchand being put in a shutdown role and never playing on the PP contributed to his stats a lot. Its not an accident that Marchand magically went from a guy that produced line a 2nd liner to an elite 1st liner when Julien was fired and the approach changed. Heck, look at Bergeron's stats, too.
And for the 90th time. What does this have to do with who is better TODAY?Marchand is 34, Aho 24. Marchand stats when 24 were worse than Aho.
You’re right, it’s super common for players to break out at 29Or as a talented player when you gain nhl experience you produce more.
Geez….
Ah tribalism….can’t argue with kool aid folks. And for the 90th time. What does this have to do with who is better TODAY?

I would say most of Haula's contributions have been giveaways to the Canes so yes he's shown up favorably for your teamPasta and to a lesser extent Haula have at least shown up OK in this series. Not outstanding, but present and accounted for.
The one that surprises me is Hall. I think it was late 2nd or early 3rd period last night when I noticed him for the first time, and only because he fell down.

Its the best hes ever played for us. Hes contributing much more now than 2 years ago.I would say most of Haula's contributions have been giveaways to the Canes so yes he's shown up favorably for your team
Refs only taking Forbort early in the first with that Domi scrum tells you everything you need to know.Solid win, what difference does it make when you stay out of the penalty box. Very disciplined show tonight. Few dives by the bruins but didn't help them. Is begeron injured? I didn't see him all game?

Sucked the life out of the Bruins and the Canes fed off it. Still not sure how you can get the only penalty while being punched 3-4 times.

I'm just wondering if its sunk in that game 6 could be the last game ever for one of their best players. That was a horrible call. But, shit happens. The Bruins are supposed to be the team that doesn't fold when things go bad. Carolina is supposed to be that team. It seemed like it was "same old Canes" after the short handed goal in game 3 and into game 4. But, that was a big statement from them last night. Good for them. Now the Bruins need to hit back.
On average, Aho IS in his prime right now, you know. Being a PPG two way center is awesome! But, no homer would put him on the same tier as Marchand right now. And that is OK! The Canes have more good players than the Bruins, even if the Bruins best players are better.
