This is a home ice series up to now. Bruins will need to break the tendency. Game 7 is oftenly a goaltending issue. I hope Swayman will keep the fort and start his own legacy. Winning in this crazy barn in Carolina ain't easy.... but IMO AL the pressure is on the Canes!
In 2011 cup finals...Game #7...Vancouver. Series was tied up. Teams had won at home only. Neither team had won on the road. One of the guys who worked for the Bs brought some melted ice from Boston Garden and Nate Horton (Who had been hit by a cheap shot and couldn't play in game 7) poured it on the Vancouver ice. "It is our ice now" was said. Bs won the cup that night.

I heard there is a special bottle of melted Boston Garden ice that is now in Carolina from Boston Garden.

That part of the play was already over, he wasn't even the closest Cane to Pasta when the puck was released, he was standing in front of the net doing nothing when he had a good chance of breaking up the play if he was paying attention.

I mean, that’s just… not what he was doing. I don’t know what to tell you. Watch it back again, he was very obviously following Pastrnak to the side of the net. He wasn’t the closest Cane because they were both going around Slavin toward the far boards at the time of the tip-in.

Simply being near the player who scored doesn’t mean it’s automatically his responsibility to turn around and defend that guy.

Carolina needs to get to the Finals for the season to be a success. There's no reason they should be going to game 7 against this Bruins team.

I fully expect Carolina to win game 7.

But...if they had this much trouble against Boston. What will they do when they face the Rangers. Or, end up facing Florida or Leafs in round 3?

What's going on here? This series should've been over long ago.

Thanks. Remember that Horton dropping water on the Nucks ice. I really have a good feeling on tomorrow game. Wish the best to our boy. So following what you heard.... there should be Boston Garden ice in a bottle close to the Canes rink... tomorrow ! This will work. Book it!

The series is already over. Tell the teams to skip the game, Carolina has to make the SCF and it's already been decided they will win game 7. Congrats, happy for you guys!

What he was doing worked out poorly for him and the Canes. You can try to come up with all the excuses you want but it doesn't change the fact that Aho did nothing of use in front of the net and he had an opportunity to make a play that could have prevented a goal.

Being aware enough to know when to switch coverage helps the team, and staring into space in front of the net did nothing.

Obviously Bruins playing with house money here. Might be Bergeron's last hockey game. Thankfully we don't need to wait till 7.

I guess Boston..... I mean when you have to purposely injury Raanta to get the 3rd string kinda gives changes everything
Still don't know what the hell Pastrnak was doing he can deny it all he likes but he didnt even attempt to not run into him

Didn't Marchand do something to their 3rd string as well?

Raanta- “I think it was a hockey play and collisions happen “. He also said earlier that he doesn’t think Pastrnak is the type of player who tries to injure goalies. So if the guy that got hit thinks this about the play, why is this so hard for you to accept? Are you implying Raanta is wrong on his assessment of what happened to him?

I’m good with refs - getting Grzelcyk out significant on how the Bruins can win

They need to move the Canes out of the front and keep them from deflections

I can see it coming down to last 10 minutes or overtime

The one guy who concerns me as a Bruins fan is TDA ~ he’s a heck of an offensive force and I hope Cassidy tells his players don’t chip him don’t go out of your way to get him but be aware of him and finish him off in the context of a play - and make him defend and near the net

Welllllp

So much for all the good will I spoke the other day about our King Louis..and then he went mentally ill in a matter of 24 hours. It was the chicken wings (Rangers are buying this year!) That caused illness. RIP King.

If the Pens win this somehow, May the King walk in a field of chickens forever...ever...ever.

That’s like saying Slavin or Svechnikov could’ve covered Haula and are at fault for the goal.

Haula was DeAngelo’s man. If you have ever played any sport at any level, you know intuitively that you don’t just randomly start covering other people’s assignments with Deep Blue-like foreknowledge that they will score in a few seconds. Trusting your teammates to do their jobs is inherent in playing effective defense.

I don’t even think Aho’s defense on that play was particularly good — the lack of moving feet when he turns and slashes at Pastrnak sums up his contribution in that game — but suggesting he should have prevented the goal is just ridiculous. Being in the vicinity of a goal is not the same as being responsible for it.
