Perhaps this is something I had from just listening selectively and they were talking about something else. I wasn’t paying 100% attention while they mentioned that and only noticed it at the end of what they were saying.

It would be kind of hard to have zero attempts with 4 full 2 minute power plays.

Pretty much. I'm going to chalk it up to nerves and hope now that the jitters are past they come out much better for Game 2. We pretty much all said there would be a playoff learning curve for a lot of these players, and well here it is.

Sums up this game pretty well. Bill and Dano spent most of this game rationalizing for Game 2

You could say the same thing for the rangers. Hence why I say they didn’t do anything particularly special. They relied on their special teams and goalie and we didn’t execute to our potential in any facet of the game.

Exactly. We for some reason let the Rangers dictate the style of play for the game . They took away what were are good at and changed their PP up to somethimg we didn’t see during the regular season . We stayed the same and they gameplanned for it . Evident by us going 0-4 with zero shots . Rangers were coached and ready to counter us . We were not ready and did not play our game . Either by them preventing us from doing it or because they made adjustments .
We need to adjust or it will be more of the same for the rest of the series.

There is no way that is true. We absolutely had shot attempts on the PP that either missed the net or were blocked

I've long said adding a shooter to the PP, whether that was Holtz, or Meier, would squeeze Bratt off the first unit. They've decided to keep Bratt on it, but I think it has made for guys not being in the positions they should be in.

if Jack could win faceoffs, I'd take Nico off it as well. Put someone like Bastian that can screen the goalie and create some havoc.

In my view no goalie was winning this game for NJ. Not with that crappy PP and crappy PK. PP is somewhat on the players but PK to me was totally a coaching failure. A good goalie loses that game anyway. Rangers core a couple of PP defections and maybe it’s 3-1 with the empty netter.
