it's pretty clear now with nearly 7 years of hindsight that Sweeney & Neely are just implementing the same old bullshit that Sinden implemented for 30+ years. Just be good enough to get into the playoffs every year and give the illusion you're trying to compete. 2011 was an anomaly because Chiarelli was an outsider and actually went for it. At least I got to see them win that one.
I don't get the deadline. Deal two 2's to retain and take Moore's contract to focus on ONE player in Rakell that you didn't get?

At least they won the one Cup, but as the pieces of this core fade away, one by one, the whole body of work feels like an awful lot of choke.

I don’t feel like this season was a choke, though.

Never felt like they had the horses.

Beating a dead horse, but that draft and the inability to give Krejci anything for so long ruined what should’ve been a potential dynasty.

Sweeney had the best line in hockey gifted to him and squandered it given the picks/cap that were available to him.

The way they reacted to Bergeron going off the ice was telling. If he told them he was retiring after this season and this is the best they could do blow up everything and start anew. Heartless teams never win.

Why come back to this dumpster fire of a roster if you're Bergeron?
I cannot see it unfortunately. Next season the roster should be different.

Only so much can be done with the contracts Sweeney gave Nosek, Foligno, Reilly, and even Haula. One more season of "contending" likely.

I'm so confused.

For the past several years, I was lead to believe that all of the Bruins' post-season issues were the fault of Tuukka Rask and Matt Grzelcyk.
They played way better without Gryz. He's a liability in the play-offs, I'm not sure how much more evidence you could possibly need other than his performance.

Thank you Patrice!

Remember the excitement and enthusiasm of the training in Providence a lot of the group were getting? They were developing. 37 took that lockout year to keep playing and become a master faceoff person. Oh, those were exciting days. 2007 was a dark year but 2008 was such a surprise and a fun series against Montreal. 2009...oh, man, we can really do this! 2010 was crushing. And 2011.

What a great ride.

1 cup in 50 years is an abomination
Chokey organization.

Makes me love and appreciate the one Cup I’ve seen in my lifetime all the more.

But rooting for this organization is one root canal after another.

The fact that they had Bergeron, Pastrnak, and Marchand locked up on the deals they had them on and failed to fill out the rest of the forward lines adequately year after year is a failure of inexcusable proportions.

What’s our record now in game 7? I believe they have the most losses. Ughhh

They should have won way more with this core that also got fueled by the lucky Toronto-trade turning into Seguin and another top 10 pick. After 2011, Many thought this could be (some sort of) dynasty. They botched it BADLY.

These guys were held on for way too long. Nobody connected to the Seguin-trade and 2015 draft fiasco should have kept their job for one day longer than necessary.
