I don’t know if the average person on this board saw the way the Devils played in the early 2000s or remembers how they played. That’s not to excuse the Rangers at all, but there was one Game 7 vs Toronto where the Devils limited the Leafs to SIX shots on goal for the ENTIRE game. When the Devils played that garbage and played it to perfection, they could have shut down Gretzky’s Oilers.

This Devils team is approaching that level, PLUS any turnover or deflected puck turns into an immediate danger because of the speed.

Honestly don’t believe this is a lack of effort from the Rangers. Looks more like they’re a cat with bags tied to their paws. Mentally defeated, because they have no idea what to do.

Extremely underrated team for sure. Pipeline is deep too. They are going to be a problem for everyone in the metro for a long time. Their GM and scouting staff have made genius moves.

Miller could never handle the transition part of NHL defense.

We just have a convenient narrative because of the incident instead of admitting that we're hitching our wagon to another extremely flawed player.

I remember years of Kreider flying into the O zone with his speed, taking a shot and missing the net. He was almost as bad as no hands Hagelin. Kreider cant score on the rush.

Yes I agree that the refs calling him so often caused him to let up but I always felt like he let up too much. Need to find the balance and use the thoroughbred horse body that he has.

Like most of the team, I've come to realize they are slow on purpose because if they're skating even 3/4 speed they can't control the puck or do anything positive with it.

The Rangers are the anti-McDavid. His skills get better with speed, they completely fall apart.

Whether they score on this PP or not, now that they aren't down they need to play 5 man Defense and take away the neutral zone. Wait for them to make a mistake because that is how they are playing us 5v5. Stop pinching, stop trying to force a rush. Not like they are generating literally anything on the rush anyway. Full Defense like games 1 and 2. Frustrate them and take advantage of forced plays.

Dont know. I have been drooling over Graves and Marino for the past few years. Both were highly underrated and not given chances to shine due to superstars and cap space on previous teams. Very good defenders. Hamilton pickup was huge too although he is a bit overrated but still very very good.
