Why aren't more guys ripping mouth guards out like Franzen did.
It's all I can think of when some guy is breaking you from 1 foot away with it dangling. It would be stinky face wash and mouth guard removal.

Man, FLA really needs another goal to get breathing room. They've had so many chances. That's hockey though. One team dominates huge stretches and the other team comes back and scores. Seems to always happen. I'm just waiting for the B's to tie it up. lol

IT's not a pass. A pass indicates intention. Deflecting off a finger tip is not a hand pass.
My read on it was that DeBrusk intended to push the puck to his own stick, and as he looked up he saw his teammate and aborted the play. To be clear though, there is no mention of intent in the rule. It actually says the player cannot “direct” the puck to a teammate.

It’s dumb though. It doesn’t impact the play in any way and it would have been no different if he didn’t touch it. But worst of all, it isn’t in the goal scoring sequence.

This is like the 92-93 bruins except we aren't getting swept in the 1rst round. You're sitting there watching the team and wondering if you're actually watching the same team you watched all year long.

Was there a visible pass in that sequence? It’s a shit call regardless of who it benefits. Maybe Debrusk shouldn’t have grasped his stick on that play.
Whether the rule to allow it to be reviewable is right or wrong... FLA is entitled to review it and the right call by the rule book was made.

It's just like the tuck rule. Bad rule. Interpreted correctly.

Was there a visible pass in that sequence?
79.1 Hand Pass - A player shall be permitted to stop or “bat” a puck in the air with his open hand, or push it along the ice with his hand, and the play shall not be stopped unless, in the opinion of the on-ice officials, he has directed the puck to a teammate, or has allowed his team to gain an advantage, and subsequently possession and control of the puck is obtained by a player of the offending team, either directly or deflected off any player or official.
Nothing in that rule requires a "visible pass" much less "intent to make a pass" in that rule. Merely making contact with the puck and a teammate gaining control is all that's needed.
Maybe Debrusk shouldn’t have grasped his stick on that play.
You're really, really close to getting it.

1. By that "logic" every rule is garbage to someone.
2. Life isn't fair.
3. We're ... what, about halfway through the 2nd period? Then on average, there's been another 9 hand passes by the offense that have occurred, that the officials didn't call. Can you point any of them out?

Doesn't matter. As soon as "in the referee's discretion, it had an impact on the play" gets written into the rule book, it's yet another thing for people to bitch and whine about and we're left grasping for what a given referee thinks and why they interpret a play one way while a different referee interprets the same thing a different way, and ...

This way, it's a black-and-white rule. Period.
I mean, dont they already have that with the kicking motion rule? I wouldn't be entirely opposed to that with the hand pass, and in this case the Bruins player looked like he was just going for the stick, he barely moved the puck.

Ullmark has been good since giving up the third goal. A goal he had no chance on. Huge PP for FLA upcoming.

All Panthers right now. They could have had another 1-2 goals. Duclair too fancy and that Reinhart tap in

BOS needs to get out of this period and regroup. All of the depth that they had all season long needs to find a way to show up. They look absolutely scrambly for good portions of the game.
