I am OK with losing this game. Almost every series (aside from this year which has been nuts league wide) had a game a team loses like this at home. It was game 3....

We would have had a good chance against Carolina too. Devils should eat them up. But the series will only be tied after tonight? We ALL know it in our hearts: if we don't somehow win this game, it is looking very very bad.

No. We'll win the next game away. The real question is if/when we can win one at home.

This place is miserable. Remember those dead years out of the playoffs? We are up 2-1. We have a good team. I agree we are not playing to our potential, but only down 1-0. We are in this.
Those dead years weren't just dead for us. They were halcyon years for the Devils. Winning three Stanley Cups in eight years while we had to luck into a franchise goaltender in the 7th round who never got any goal support.

Being a fan of this team is a miserable waste of time, energy, and money, but I would never disrespect my dad who introduced me to the team by giving up on them.

I'm not saying you're wrong but if anybody gets sainthood around here, it's homegrown players. Nobody can criticize Miller despite arguably being on the least effective 5v5 pair since he entered the league.

We're long overdue to trade Alexis Pyatt and Kaapo Asham for players who can skate and be weapons now.
we should def explore trading krappo and laughable laf. miller sucks too but nobody wants to say it for some reason. still laughing at the idea that he would steal Norris votes from fox

I have no problem critiquing Miller, but he did have the 12th most EV points of any defenseman in the NHL which is kind of effective at 5v5. I absolutely agree with you on the children - I don’t care if they may improve or breakout, they still have value right now and, like it or not, we’ve committed to players in Shesty, Zib, Trochek, etc that means we need players who are effective now not in a few years.

Meanwhile, we’ve allowed 4 goals so far in 4 games… our 2nd pairing is a lot less of a problem in this series than the invisible 12M, offense only man who has no offense.

They need to find a way to get more traffic in front. It's gonna require a greasy goal or deflection

What

signing him killed the rebuild imo
They half-assed the rebuild. Signing Panarin was dumb at that time; they weren't 1 piece away from beocming a Stanley Cup contender. They should've stayed the course with the rebuild and not try to accelerate it. There may have been "business" reasons for accelerating it, but hockey wise, it didn't make any sense (and thought so at the time).

Yea maybe we win the next one, but it isn't *likely* to win the series anymore. It wasn't even likely we were going to win games 1 and 2 so anything can happen.

I had disgusting Founders IPA. We’re losing and I hate what I drank a lot of. Terrible night so far.

Ugh, you should try and get some local brews. They have Grimm over in Brooklyn, good stuff, That’s why I usually go to Haymaker, they have like 30-40 craft beers on tap and cans.
