We will come out on fire tonight.........

Absolutely absurd that Igor was given a penalty after Meier tackled him.

Apparently its ok to do that to the Schmid and come out with a PP, so they should try it
I try to empathize with the officials because what they do is hard.

I get things not being called by the book because there would literally be a penalty every play if you did.

I even get the game management because, sure, as an official you don't want to give one team nine more powerplays than the other. You don't want to call a third penalty when a team is already down 3v5. There's a human element of not wanting to affect the game. Right or wrong, I can wrap my head around it.

What really annoys me is their open and acknowledged paradigm of "I'm not gonna call the offense, I'm gonna call the retaliation." So you're saying it's ok if a guy tries to hurt me, you're openly acknowledging that you're not going to do anything, and I'm expected to do nothing about it because...it makes your job easier?

If they miss it, they miss it. People make mistakes. They saw what Meier did and they called the retaliation because potentially injuring somebody is fine as long as it doesn't escalate and they look like they're in control.

By the technical definition not a "must win" but if you lose this game you go to underdogs in the series and you likely lose it.

This game does not end the series either way, but the outcome tonight determines whether you likely move on or likely go home.

I don’t see Schmidt as the kind of goalie to be able to steal games all on his own, so if I was coach I’d be focusing just on generating scoring chances rather than messing with him. Obviously traffic is good but we should be able to beat this guy clean with medium danger chances if we get enough of them.

Still livid over that supposed "penalty" on Igor. If Igor was planning on getting a penalty regardless, then he should have made it count and REALLY whacked Meier.
I was livid as soon as it happened. Was even worse once they scored.

then my anger moved to our PP and Zibs and Panarin missing the net.

Panarin had his chances last game. He shanked at least two that I saw. One on a breakaway and the one on the PP in the 3rd period. If Panarin gets that goal in the 3rd, they probably win the game at that point.

If either hit the net, it's 3-love.

A lot of flubbed chances.

We need some scoring from our defenseman. KAM needs to step up. Schneids or Trouba are LONG over due for a goal.

Chytil needs to forget about his last game and remember how to handle the puck
