Trotz or Torts, they are both really good at teaching teams how to play highly competitive, playoff hockey defense. I believe this team actually has the pieces to go all the way, but with this structure they're going nowhere.

how do you expect them to when they suddenly change directiom? when a goalie saves a deflection, like many deflections, it’s pure luck. Shesty is so good because of his positioning and putting himself in a place where he can make the save. Deflections make positioning a total crapshoot. And sometimes there’s literally no chance, like the shot the was going well wide but then deflected in

This could be true. Igor certainly hasn't looked the same, no matter that the team is playing like shit in front of him.

We need a center.

Even if Gallant were playing Copp at center (which he should be), I don't think he's it. He's mediocre defensively.

I've said it a million and a half times. Zibanejad is a very good player and Strome is fine, but they're too alike to be your top two centers.

We never left Hank out to dry like that in the playoffs. He had his moments too, but this is different. We're absolutely lost and can't do a thing right. Igor is not THE problem, but that's not to say he's not to blame at least partially. But the whole squad has collapsed.
