Hitting the post is basically finishing. You beat the goalie yet just miss the goal. You can't ask for much more than that. Not like the players can control physics. We don't have Pronger.

As a goalie myself (and I'm not being snide or high horsed) hitting the post still means you didn't beat the goalie. It didn't go in but it was about to... at least in my world, you don't beat the goalie till it goes in. But aside from that, they could've buried a few more shots... They seem too scared.

Boston lost their first two at home and had an even worse PP in 2011.

Let's wait for the Caps to win 4 games before we say it is over.

One thing: That was truly a game of inches.
They were in it neck and neck until OT.

Second thing: At times I had no idea what Girardi was doing. He would lay on the ice, get up, then lay on the ice again.

When did I say that? What the hell does it have to do with the post you quoted? :shakehead

Lundqvist has amazing games like this, even in the playoffs. However, he has too many ****** games in the playoffs, more percentage-wise than in the regular season. I call him out when he ***** the bed like last game. Today he looked as good as I've ever seen him. Just amazing display. Amazing.

Complaining about Lundqvist is the last thing you want to do today, unless you enjoy looking like a tool that is.

No, you beat the goalie when you hit the post. Unless you are playing behind the post and in the net.

Truly embarrassed to be a rangers fan right now, going into work with a bunch of devils fans.

Going to enjoy whats left of the series and looking forward to them coming back into the Garden. If we dont start scoring and generating more quality chances consistently, were going to be in trouble. You have to take both games at the Garden if youre going to win this series now.

You should expect he has more bad games in the playoffs than the regular season. The average quality of team he faces is much higher.

I was only mad about the offense in OT (it was non-existant). The rest of the game wasn't that bad. I mean, they beat Holtby clean twice only to be denied by the iron. A game they should have won but didn't have the puck luck.

Are you really ONLY attributing this to puck luck? Teams don't score on 100% of their good chances. This is a pathetic offense. it's about scoring. If you can't score you fail, you suck, you lose.

Rangers have scored one goal in 2 games, and now need to win 4 out of 5 against the Caps to advance.. somehow that doesn't seem likely.

They will probably split the home/home and then lose in 5. Our game plan is dreadful against the caps.

The frustrating thing is that the Caps have not played all that well. They are sloppy in their own end, and yet Rangers can't take advantage.

Watch the Caps do their traditional second round exit after they knock out the Rangers.

The same weak, soft ass ******** he says after EVERY SINGLE MOTHER****ING LOSS. Canned, ****ing ******** answers.

ah, the old "what's said in front of a camera is the same as what's said behind closed doors" rant hey?

I'll never understand why people watch after match press conferences

As Fitzy said, that was about as good of a game as you'll ever see a goalie have.

Everyone *****ed about Game 1 and Hank went out and played better than you could want. Team couldn't help him again. Much like Game 1 too.

In reality you do beat the goalie if u hit the post

But if you play , it's considered not beating the goalie ... It's always been debatable . BTW it's not a shot on goal

Can't believe we had to endure a lackluster effort like that in a crucial game. That "defensive game" was glorified by Lundqvist being stellar in goal. We gave up a number of high quality scoring chances and if that's going to be the case then you need to be aggressive and take some chances in the offensive zone.

We didn't win puck battles, we stick checked the entire game and there were very few moments where guys were skating hard. More than 3/4 of that game was absolutely brutal to watch.

Except our offense didn't really suck today (except in OT where the entire team sucked for some reason -- that PP was laughable). Most of the loss is attributed to puck luck. Absolutely. We get the puck in instead of the post and we win the game. Not that difficult to see that.
