this team kills hockey for me. I am having so much fun watching every other team play night by night, just wish I had a rooting interest in those games. this team does not ****ing play hockey at all.

This it is; failed opportunities are biting the right side of our left asscheek now. They need to get it together and FINISH. No more of the scared to enter the zone or shoot thing... safe. is. death. You WILL DIE IF YOU'RE SAFE

Hitting the post is basically finishing. You beat the goalie yet just miss the goal. You can't ask for much more than that. Not like the players can control physics. We don't have Pronger.

Same thing happened last game. We got ****ed on the no goal and we hit another cross-bar right after it. If those two things change and we get the goals today instead of posts, we are up 2-0 in the series.

Truly a game of inches.
woulda coulda shoulda. You cant dwell on that crap you ahve to bust you ass and make sure you get it next time.

With regards to McDonagh staying out come on...you know if he changed and the Caps scored on that shift or we took a penalty there would just be a million comments on "Wow Torts got outcoached how could he let Ovechkin come out on the ice with our top defensive pairing on the bench."

Well guess what, McDonaugh stayed on the ice and ultimately caused this loss. Sure hindsight, but what good is your top defensive pairing if they are gassed?

:Want to hear Callahan's reaction. Capt. Cally shows no anger or emotion what so ever.

So Ryan, what did you think of the game?

Oh, you know, we just need to play better. Ran into some bad luck, but you know, it happens. We just have to focus and play better next game.

Ryan, why couldn't you score?

Oh, you know they played well defensively. Holtby was great. We just couldn't score.

Ryan, can you talk about why you never get angry or frustrated

Just the way the puck rolls sometimes

That doesn't even make sense...

Oh, you know we just need to play better

No it isn't.

Whether you want it to be or not, it isn't.

Agreed. Torts will still be here next season. The earliest he gets fired would be after next season. For better or worse, Torts bought a lot of good will for their run last year. Personally, I think we're wasting Hank's prime with this idiot, but Sather and Dolan might not see it that way.

Games will play out differently if...and its a big if....we can create offense...we get line change strategy in NY...so keep the faith...its gonna be what its gonna be either way....so lets see if the team can turn it around...

That's the thing... we can't generate effective consistent offense with this style our guys are playing now. Every day I clamor to let them open up the offense a little to get the guys open and gunning...not just standing around and not knowing who to pass to or else theyd get benched....

This is fairly typical; the garden will be loud on Monday which is all that matters.

Yeah. That game was Lundqvist's fault

When did I say that? What the hell does it have to do with the post you quoted? :shakehead

Lundqvist has amazing games like this, even in the playoffs. However, he has too many ****** games in the playoffs, more percentage-wise than in the regular season. I call him out when he ***** the bed like last game. Today he looked as good as I've ever seen him. Just amazing display. Amazing.

Don't know what else Torts and Sully could do when all the players have proven to be walking brain farts comes PP time. They all hold the puck for 3 seconds too long and none of them move enough, I can't believe this what they are thought to do.

Rangers PP Rank under Torts:
08-09 - 29th
09-10 - 13th
10-11 - 18th
11-12 - 23rd
12-13 - 23rd

I think Torts and Sullivan getting blamed is fair. Team has never had a top 10 powerplay under his reign. Just awful coaching.

McDonagh final shift 03:04.
He had been on for 02:03 when Torts decided it was good plan to keep him on the ice after the whistle

Anybody who follows the Knicks knows that Dolan is an idiot. Sather has been here forever and we are still dealing with this crap

Still only down 2-0 and we head home.

The offense was absolutely dreadful and for the nth ****ing time (AND I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH) we let Holtby finish another one of his ****ing books.

only down 2-0?Can you honestly see this team beating the Caps 4 out of 5?

The time we were in the top half in the power play we missed the playoffs.

That said, if we are to lose this series, the team needs to consider changing it's playing style. Having a great goalie is less important when you're a defensive and not offensive team.

Powerplay is why the Rangers lost hands down. 5-on-5 they weren't that bad, just no finish. But when you have a PP at the end of the game and in the beginning of overtime against the 27th ranked PK in the league - you need to score.

Same old story, special teams will let the team down and Lundqvist will do his best impression of the being a goaltending god only to come up short.

Well guess what, McDonaugh stayed on the ice and ultimately caused this loss. Sure hindsight, but what good is your top defensive pairing if they are gassed?

And the fact that our offense was completely incapable of getting the puck and helping get it out of the defensive zone wasn't a factor?

All I'm saying is you no matter what scenario took place, if the Caps scored, you guys are going to blame Torts (and I do not like Torts as a coach myself). Either McD was out too long and he should have taken him off or McD came off and we have the 2nd/3rd pairing out vs Ovechkin. He can't win.

And it's McDonagh.
