Shesterkin deserved better. We didn’t deserve Shesty. We can bitch about the reffing but it isn’t going to change. We either play better and overcome it, shoot the ducking puck, stop with the patty cake bullshit passing or we get bounced. We had a great start / played exactly the style we need to play to be successful and then abandoned it entirely. Zero of our big guys showed up. Kreider’s pretty SHG doesn’t make up for being invisible 90% or 125 minutes. Kreids, Zib, Bread, Strome, Fox, Trouba… not good enough. Don’t they all wear As? Not good enough. Great start. 4.25 periods of sloppy, intention-less hockey after. Letting a cold third string goalie stone wall you is embarrassing. Home ice. Favored team. Not good enough. I’ve got nothing.

4 to 1 in PP including a 5v3. On top of all that BS they robbed us of winning this game. I mean, talk about adversity.

The is by far the worst-coached pro sport and we're supposed to sit here and pretend it's not.

Too many people want to kiss Gallant’s ass because he took a team that has some in their prime superstars and corrected a botched coaching job by Quinn which led to what would have been like a 6 seed under the old playoff format.

Gallant did a good job but not a perfect job and his management of the kids has not been good.

That game took all the good post-TD feelings I had and flushed them down the toilet. Pittsburgh made the Rangers look like a joke of a team after the 2-0 lead. Trouba and Miller were so horrible tonight I don't even know how to describe it. I don't think Trouba made one attempted pass that wasn't either tipped or intercepted. 4th line isn't NHL caliber and Rooney and Reaves shouldn't see another minute this series but I'm sure they will get plenty of ice time. There really isn't anything positive to take from this performance.

A triple OT, a goal taken away that was the game winner, no real leader/captain in the locker room, and home ice advantage gone now.

I wish it wasnt true but sadly.. This series may be over quickly just the opposite of what we all thought and want

I’m furious. The amount of unforced errors after the first period were insane. The amount of passes in peoples skates or flubbed was far too high.

Then you get to the ref gifting them a phantom 5v3 on the softest “roughing” call you’ll ever see in the regular season let alone the playoffs when that team is already on the PP, seriously that call was abysmal.

And then the disallowed gwg which was borderline at best but was called a goal on the ice and the the replay showed contact from Doumolin pushed Kakko toward the net, definitely not reverse the call on the ice level evidence.

And Pittsburgh who was already playing their backup goalie has to turn to their 3rd string guy in 2nd and 3rd OT and WE STILL HAVE PLAYERS OVER PASSING THE PUCK. It’s f***ing overtime in the playoffs. These games aren’t won with globetrotter plays, they’re won by throwing the puck at the net and going for the best. We lost the cup in 2014 to a team for this exact reason, I can’t do it again. Shoot the f***ing puck.

Meh, I've already checked out of this series. I don't trust these zebras to ref properly. I'm busy on Thurs and Sat, so won't catch games 2 and 3 at least. Maybe they'll pull off wins in those games somehow
