It's not even like he exerted himself on Wednesday.
He could’ve tweaked something by skating

I don’t think he should’ve been on the ice for Wednesday, he should’ve sat in the pressbox watching the game. There really was no need to play him, he was 3 points away from 100, keefe sat Marner when he had 97 in 2021-2022 against Boston because he thought it was a long shot for Marner to get 100.

It was a back to back and we ran the exact same lineup 2 days before playoffs started. Nylander and some others should’ve been swapped out with any and all players we had on roster. Run 11/7 if you had to

I would expect Marner to shrivel, Nylander will avoid getting hit at all costs, but I just have a feeling that Matthews will be taking it to the next level these playoffs. McMann is going to be missed, so Knies especially, and Robertson assuming he gets in, will have to step it up.
Loving the toughness McCabe is playing with, and hoping Edmundson is fully healthy.
You realise Nylander took more hits than Matthews and Marner during the season.

He will take a hit, he just won't initiate contact

Can someone teach me how to stream the radio audio synced to the CBC video stream?

I know this is possible but I have no idea how to either delay the radio stream or whatever the f*** I’d have to do for the video

I’m sure someone has written a wiki how on this or something

I found it

That is dreadful to hear.....

So not expecting him anywhere near game 1.

Every team should have been given 7 full days between game 82 and game 1 of the playoffs

Most teams are getting a decent amount of rest.

I’m sure the NHL made the conscious decision to give the team that ended the season on a back to back the least amount of rest though.

I feel like people are overreacting to the Nylander injury. Sure, rather have him, but if the team cannot overcome a single injury to a top player, what are we even doing?

For whatever reason, it does seem it galvanizes this team when they are missing a key player. Hopefully that holds true.

Ah playoffs, one of the few times a few I can feel good about living in Alberta. Mountain time is the best time zone for playoff viewing. Go Leafs! And since I live in Oilers region, go Kings.
I used to love our spring ski trips to Banff, ski all day then watch 3 playoff games back to back to back. Next day, do it all over again.............

The Leafs are a headcase team. You stack up the adversity and kick them when they’re down, they rattle off a perfect run and look like world beaters.

When everything goes well and big milestones and accomplishments are within grasp, the city and fanbase and media are buzzing, they fall apart.

I actually somehow feel better knowing Nylander is out. The Buds will be super ready to go, they always are when guys are out.

Last year we dominated Tampa game 1, blew their doors off. Hopefully happens again tonight

Matthews has been doing it more this year, and I expect him to play like a man on a mission. Nylander won’t throw a hit, but he has shown that he shows up in the playoffs. Marner is the wildcard, will definitely not be physical, but he has to to find a way to impact the game when needed, not produce empty stats.

Matthews has been hitting more every year for 4 seasons now. In 20-21 he went from 40 to 57 hits in 18 less games, and went from 10 hits in 5 games in the playoffs to 25 in 7. Since then his hits have gone from 57 - 67 - 78 - 90 in the regular season and 25 - 32 - 38 in the playoffs. The Montreal series was the first time I really saw him go out there and throw his weight around with authority.
