How the heck can a 70 goal scorer look so ineffective. A person who had never watched a hockey game would have no idea Matthews is considered a top player in the league by watching this game.

He's gotten some shots, but if they don't hit the net he looks like any other middle-aged 20 whatever year old.

Doesn't matter how many goals you score if you let the other team score more. You could score 150 goals a season and still be a liability to your team. (Not to say Matthews is, it's just more an indictment of how people value statistics on their own)

Leafs got bigger and meaner Dmen to counteract the Bostons and Floridas in the playoffs, the downside to that is guys like Lybushkin, Edmundson and Benoit are not puck moving defensemen. They are really struggling to break out against the Bruins forecheck.
