Doesn't matter how many goals you score if you let the other team score more. You could score 150 goals a season and still be a liability to your team. (Not to say Matthews is, it's just more an indictment of how people value statistics on their own)

My point was more, elite players usually look elite even if they're not producing.

Leafs lost 7-3 at home last year in Game 1. It’s not a total goals series.

They had home ice last year, they'll have to play better in Toronto if they want to get back into the series

How the heck can a 70 goal scorer look so ineffective. A person who had never watched a hockey game would have no idea Matthews is considered a top player in the league by watching this game.

The reason he finished at 69 is the same he's middling at best in the playoffs. All the skill in the world - no bite to his game. It's sad cause there is a real 'all world' talent there.
