Blaming the core 4 for a series where they haven't played a full game together doesn't make any sense.

Leafs are built wrong. Too much money in forwards means you can't keep depth unless they're taking paycuts, which might and happen for a single year (ie Bertuzzi, Domi, ROR etc) but doesn't generally happen long term. It means you can't afford Luke Schenn on a very reasonable 2.75m multi-year deal and it means that yet again you'll be bargain hunting for a goalie in the summer. Obvi it's worse when ppl are injured but to pretend the problem is injuries to forwards (or the refs, which you claimed in a different thread) is embarrassing to read.

Marner and Matthews have both played 54 playoff games, Marner has 49 points and Matthews has 47. The Leafs also outscore teams by a margin of 2-1 when Marner is on the ice in the playoffs the last few years. I feel like because Marner is small, soft, and can seem "whiny", he catches the ire of Leafs fans and media that should be reserved for all of the core 4 for underperforming.

Leafs loyalty to Keefe is ridiculous. Edmonton fired 3 coaches in Keefe's tenure so far. They were tied with San Jose before Woodcroft was fired.

Keefe however gets unlimited chances and we'll never know if another coach would have made of a difference. There's a chance that Keefe could have been the problem as other teams, such as Edmonton this season, improved with the same players under a different coach.
