Blueshirt Banter writeup that sums up a lot of my thoughts

This matchup should be similar to Anaheim and Detroit out west, with NYR representing the Wings and the Caps representing the Ducks. Both series should show us the original six team controlling possession and outshooting their opponent, while all teams involved get solid to stellar goaltending (NYR and DET getting an edge). Specifically for NYR, I think they need to do a few things to be on the path to victory, barring horrible luck (or WSH getting even hotter):

Basically the Caps are a terrible ES team and the Rangers should pounce on that opportunity. I like their chances I guess if the penalty totals are very low, because the Caps' PP is too much for our weak PK.

I do think we control possession and dominate, but I'm not sure we have the natural goal scorer (Gaborik) to pull us apart.

I think Nash's goal scoring style will be more useful in the playoffs than Gabby's. Gabby relies on the sort of careless D that you don't see too often in the post season. I don't mean that as a knock on him, because he's been as good as anyone for the past few years when it comes to exploiting those sorts of situations, but his game is undoubtedly less assertive than Nash's.

Only one way to find out. Let's see what Nash is made of. Gaborik already proven he can produce in the playoffs early in his career, but he's tailed off a bit with injuries and bad matchup (2007 Ducks vs. Pronger/Neidermayer).

Truth. Nash said it himself, it's time to step up. Should be interesting to see what he can do.

Expecting a big game from Nash

Time to step it up now that he is playing meaningful games

I already had the eight most nerve-wrecking minutes in my life as a sports fan on Tuesday. I'm ready for the playoffs! ;)

Definitely nervous...but the pressure is always on the home team, more so even in game 1. We're supposed to lose...so it's a little easier to prepare for.

Who needs sleep? Let's go Rangers!

Fellow European, our eye circles shall grow until the mid of June! The Americans can grow beards, we will grow and be proud of our eye circles. LGR!
(Glad I'm not having clients in tomorrow, but it'll be inevitable at some point)

It is time to see truly what Rick Nash is made of. Lets Go Rangers! Time to get it boys. Not surprising but my pessimistic view this year is quickly changing. Anything is possible
