The fact that Boyle and Dorsett might be able to play excites me. With Brassard playing well at 3C, Boyle is a dope 4C. Gives us awesome center depth. If Clowe and Dorsett play we'll grind the **** out of these WSH *******s.

I was excited too, but Dorsett in a non-contact jersey and Clowe nowhere to be found.

Even if they can't make it tonight you gotta hope the 2 extra day break helped get them close. Would be great if we could take game 1 without these guys and then have them back in the lineup for Saturday.

yeah, sorry, multiple reports came out after Tom's that clowe was not out on the ice...other report from pat Leonard: Boyle and staal going through hard skate with scratches, may mean they will be scratches.

At full strength, I think we are close to a lock for the series. Without Staal, Clowe and Dorsett, not so much. If Hank is the great Hank, we can pull it out.

Most of this series will come down to goaltending... if we see Last year's hank, we'll be golden.

I'm pretty stoked either way. Caps are really a 1 line team, 2 at best. Though the Rangers bottom 6 is a little eh, I'm pretty stoked for the potential lines assigned.

it's going to be a tight, but if the rangers sustain offense, we'll win this one. If we suffer and try to nurse the lead, we're done. Simple as that.

Clowe not on the ice is upsetting. Doresett still in non contact.. ugh. but Boyle on the ice is good for PK.

Like that torts is being silent about the lines. He may throw Oates off out of the gate, and that is a good thing...

PS: haven't had alot of good things to say about torts... but I like what he's doing in the last 15 games

@JimCerny: Torts will not reveal lineup for Game One...says everyone is a gametime decision

To me, this means that one of our injured four will be back. Not Dorsett, since he's still non contact, but I think that we could see either Staal, Clowe, or Boyle back, keeping in mind that we don't know anything about Clowe or Boyle, and for all we know they are ready to play(although doubtful, the fact that they are on the ice is encouraging).

EDIT: Clowe actually isn't on the ice, so he's out. I'd put my money on Boyle then...

like I said, at least 2 of the four... Probably Boyle and Staal, in my opinion, especially if Staal is practicing hard like tweets are reading. Dorsett by game 3-4

“@stevezipay: Marc Staal out; no surprise if you've been paying attention. Waiting to speak with Boyle who may be close”

None of the injured guys are playing tonight. Staal appears to be closest player to playing. Much closer than Dorsett. It looked like Dorsett would be the first player back.

I think Staal and Boyle are close. I watched the video of practice for about 20 minutes, Boyle looked to be moving fine and passing and shooting with no pain.

Teams looks pretty doggone even on paper to me. Washington has a clearly better 4th line, our 3rd pairing is stronger IMO.

Match Stepan line with the Backstrom line, and the Richards line with the Ribeiro line.

Make sure no one takes stupid, aimless penalties.

Like I said in the injury thread, the loss of Boyle, Clowe, Staal and Dorsett is going to be felt A LOT more than people are giving them credit for. That is a lot of size and physicality that will be missing from the Rangers line-up. That's not even mentioning their collective hockey skills but over a 7 game series, sometimes the physicality can win you games.

I get the feeling we'll get at least 2 of those guys back by our home games, and probably 3 over the course of the series.

If RB is on (he usually is) we'll have Staal and Boyle back soon. Dorsett and Clowe could be awhile though, you never know.

We're placing a lot of weight on a 4th liner who hasn't suited up for us yet.

I don't know- I don't think Dorsett would decide the outcome of this series alone. But considering how he played in Columbus and how bad our 4th line has been, I think it's more than fair to have decent expectations (for a 4th liner.)

I don't like the matchup with our injured players. In particular, it is tough to not have Staal and Clowe. Henrik steals this one tonight, or we don't win IMO.
