I can’t imagine what Gallant is thinking. Going into an elimination game with this lineup intentionally makes no sense. Kakko isn’t lighting it up but he was 1/3 of the only like to do anything at 5v5 in this series, scratching him makes zero sense.

The kid line has probably been consistently the best line against Tampa even if they haven't been nearly as good as the first two games. I just can't fathom how Kakko can be scratched in favor of Rooney who played a big role in one of the two goals last game. Does Gallant legit think that what's been standing in the way of us winning too much Kakko, not enough Rooney/Reaves? We haven't been able to score more than one 5 on 5 goal in 3 games and he's putting two guys in there that have zero offensive skill.

BTW, you know what his answer would be if he gets asked about Kakko. "Coach's decision". You can literally say that and get completely absolved of every move.
