I never really gave much consideration on the importance of home ice. But this year, something is different. Could be the pandemic. Players excited having their fans back, fans excited to be back, whatever the case, home ice has been huge. Also making the playoffs, when everyone is excited things are getting back to normal couldn't happen at a better time. Everyone has said the Garden has never been louder.

Drury mentioned at the presser, he didn't know that the Bridge shook until they moved his box up there. LOL!
That whole building shakes! I was there for the Shanahan/Brashear fight game and it was really, literally ROCKING!

kI'm not sure if you are trying to be like EdJovo or what. Never look past your current opponent. This team is going to be taking a Doctorate class in competing in the playoffs against Tampa. Tampa learned the hard way through failure and turned into arguably a dynastic team. Speaking words of "this will be easy" is just asking for bad juju that I want no part of.
I never said it would be easy. Winning a playoff series is never easy. Just that there is no path Tampa has in beating us. I haven't been so sure of anything as I have of this. They can't keep up with us. Plain and simple. If you can't see that, then I don't know what to tell you. And with home ice, it kinda cements the victory for us if it goes 7 games.

Read my post here, for more details on why we will beat Tampa.....
I'll just cut and paste.....

"ALL the analyst got this series wrong. All picking Tampa, when we are clearly the better team. It matters diddlysquat Tampa has won 17 times off a loss, or that they are the 2x Stanley Cup champs. if we clearly are the better team. And beating the Canes like we did, shows we are the better team. We improved throughout that series to beat a much faster, much more aggressive team than Tampa. And that is huge, because now we will have all the time and space needed to execute at will. There is no way Tampa can smother our attack like the Canes did. We will have free reign to execute our game plan, leading to many more scoring chances than we had against the Canes.

And why these professional analysts couldn't see this, boggles my mind."

Tampa won’t be easy by any means imo. I personally don’t put much stock in stuff like the 17-0 thing, but they have a good, deep roster. They’re a crazy skilled team, though less defensive than Carolina they are far better offensively and in net. Rangers definietly can win this series which is crazy to think about but it’s no over or a gimme by any means

Vasi can win games on his own.Anyone thinking the Bolts can't still win the series is out of their mind. They are back to back champions for a reason.

And Carolina hadn't lost a game 7 and also hadn't lost at home yet. We can break this streak too!
No team had ever come back from 3-1 while trailing in games five through seven.

Then they came back from 2-0 and 3-2. And as you mentioned won that game 7.

If they win tonight they will be looking more and more like a team of destiny.

No one had ever won a game 7 at MSG either until Tampa did it.

What a ride!

Let's not be too arrogant. Please. I am by no means superstitious, but just please...
Arrogance is definitely not merited, but belief in our team is. Tampa will never be out of the series and nobody should be counting them out at any time. But it's nice to feel like we belong in the conversation finally.

And like I've stated, I'm a sports pessimist! But I've come around to the point where I don't just think we're lucky to be here, I think we've turned the corner and are a team to be feared.

They say you can't compare what happened during the regular season matchups with what happens in the playoffs.

But we are supposed to take stock on what happened last year and two years ago? (2x Stanley Cup winners)

Does that make more sense?

Just a little something to think about. We beat them in all 3 games this year. Zibad scoring the game winner in all 3. Now unless Tampa has all of a sudden become a faster team, how are they suppose to compete with us now? Cause we have certainly improved and got faster adding Copp, Motte and Vatrano since we last met them. Speed kills and that is the theme of these 2022 playoffs. Speed on the forecheck, speed on the backcheck, speed on the rush, being first on the puck, getting it quickly out of your zone. Speed is everything. And that is why us and Colorado will advance.

I'm a teacher in an urban district with kids that don't watch hockey at all. They are all getting into it, as well as teachers that aren't hockey fans. Its honestly pretty cool to see the way this Rangers team is capturing so many people's attention.

Last time we met them in the playoffs, we won the 1st game 2-1, and lost the 2nd 6-2.

Just focus on tonight. Break that little streak of thiers, break their spirits, and break 90% of sports analyst's minds.

Surprised to see so many people talking about the Avs already. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Hopefully the team isn’t.

The lightning are a great team and have proven to be very resilient in the playoffs. Vasi has absolutely absurd stats following a playoff loss in the last few years.

The Rangers have proven to also be resilient these past few weeks. But they haven’t faced the playoff Lightning when the bolts are following a loss. Tonight’s game will be very telling on which direction this series might go.

I do believe the Rangers have as good of a shot as anyone at breaking their 17-0 streak or whatever, though my feeling is that it would happen later in the series than earlier. Similar to the Carolina series where it took 4 road games for them to snap the Canes home streak.

LGR!

They're a really good team, and they have loads of experience, and should probably still be favored over us, but are they actually deep? It's hard for me to see that looking at their roster.
